It is wild to me that it feels safer to bike with my 8 yo in Downtown Seattle than from my house to the closest light rail station or the Burke Gilman trail.
Redmond loves light rail! I saw so many people get off the train wearing Mariner’s gear and am now heading to an event and the train has few seats available and we haven’t hit Bellevue yet!
My birthday is this week! Celebrating with my tradition of peonies from the Pike Place Market!
Happy World Bicycle Day! I love bike rides that are a mile to school or big adventures exploring beautiful places.
Planting seeds is such a good lesson in the discipline of hope. You don’t plant the seeds and wish they sprout. You must set intention, take action, and tend the seeds until they bear fruit.
Yesterday we saw this car flipped on our walk home from the park. This is a quiet neighborhood street. I can’t imagine how fast and reckless this person must have been driving. I really want more diverters on neighborhood streets.
I have an injured foot, so @seattlebikeblog.com rode to the Wallingford farmer’s market with me and my daughter on the back. A true family bike moment. It was super fun and made it so I didn’t have FOMO. I sat on the picnic blanket while he brought me berries and kombucha.
Yes! It set times. You stand in line to get your wrist band. The locker rooms are so full and kids refuse to take breaks.
On the plus side, school aged kids have a lot of fun with this holiday. My daughter made me these “French Fries.” Very wholesome and silly.
I’m taking the 2 Line to work today! See you at the Town Hall in Bellevue tonight!
It is so joyful to celebrate light rail opening today! The Puget Sound has World Class transit and we are not stopping until we deliver the full vision of ST3! @mayorofseattle.bsky.social
I love Lindy West’s writing. I love messy and nuanced personal situations. I’m excited to read this book.
The Crosslake Connection this weekend is going to be amazing! @moveredmond.org has our updated station access maps, new stickers, totes and postcards! Swing by our booth on Mercer Island
Do you remember when Instagram was full of small aesthetic moments in a person’s daily life? Anyway, my Ube latte matching my notebook reminded me of that. So enjoy.
Did you know the Together Center in Redmond is a place you can get a whistle kit? Form a crowd, stay loud! #AbolishiCE
One of the many reasons I love Seattle is that I can spot flowers in January. This was blooming today!
I had so much fun doing a print and am excited to do more this year. One of my favorite parts of Winter is making art and crafting.
So many bicycle highlights in 2025! Having my daughter ride her own bike for two bike camping trips! One was 32 miles round trip on gravel with @nondriver.bsky.social fueled by marshmallows and gummy bears. I also had my stolen bike returned to me. Oh, I won an ebike in a raffle!
My favorite Christmas gift is the pasta drying rack. I didn’t know how much I needed it.
What a wonderful book! I see why it made it on a lot of best of 2025 book lists.
My child wanted a Barbie Car, so of course she also got a Barbie bicycle! No car dependency here.
