You know what’s nice about 40? I finally know who I am, what I deserve, what I won’t tolerate, and how to trust my intuition. I also look and feel fucking great. It can only get better from here.
It’s my birthday! A big one - 40!? Lots of changes are afoot, including moving across the country next week and starting grad school in the fall. I was also just diagnosed with autism after years of questioning. I’m terribly excited to start the next chapter of my life. Thank you for supporting me!
Last night I was visited by this freshly hatched female Luna moth! She’s only the 3rd one I’ve ever seen. I feel so lucky! Lunas are my absolute favorite moths.
I put up a birdfeeder to entertain the cats and summoned a raccoon instead. Cats seem more concerned than entertained.
I’ve already met some neat bucket list moths this summer! This is a male Io moth and a male Cecropia moth. Both are silk moths without mouths and only live about a week just to find mates!
Get a black cat, they said. This tiny menace managed to completely disappear from our hotel room today. We looked EVERYWHERE. It’s not that big! I went calling for her on each floor and stairwell. The receptionist helped! Then around 9:30, she just appears from the V O I D, screaming for food.

Is there a song that instantly calms your nervous system every time you hear it? For me, it’s Clair de Lune by Debussy. I created this piece in 2018 to express how it made me feel, inspired also by how I experience the song as a music-color synesthete.
