(1/3) There has been a 239% surge in anti-Latino hate crimes in the U.S. from 2015 to 2025. In 2008, Oswaldo Marcelo Lucero was murdered in a targeted assault against Latinos in Suffolk County, New York. 🧵

(1/2) 32 years ago, the world watched silently as members of the Bosnian Serb Army executed more than 8,000 Bosniak Muslim men and boys and raped hundreds of women and girls in the town of Srebrenica. More than 25,000 people were forcibly displaced from their homes, and over 10,000 lost their lives.

(2/3) Since 2019, nearly 90% of ICE jail inspections found serious deficiencies, including inadequate suicide prevention, unsafe food storage, and poor medical care. But under ICE’s new policy, most facilities are now inspected only once a year, and some every two years.

(1/2) Jaba Pataraia is a 33-year-old citizen of Georgia and Russia who became active in political organizing in Georgia and publicly opposed Russia's invasion of Ukraine. In retaliation for his activism, he was targeted by Russian and Georgian regime agents and suffered a severe spinal injury.
