Welcome to long course season! My daughter had a time trial yesterday and looks to be the number 1 seed for 100m fly at the BC Summer Games in Kelowna this July.
I'm partial to the Spider-verse movies, because every single frame is designed to look like it's a comic. The attention to detail and usage of things like Kirby dots.. every frame is a work of art.

For sure! My daughter swam her first 100 fly last year, this year she beat 15/16/17 year olds in her heat. Swam it in 1:13.67

Today I said goodbye to my sweet girl after 17 wonderful years together. She hated everyone but me, but I loved her dearly. Goodbye sexy Sadie.

A brilliant performance by my kiddo in the 100m fly, which she followed up with a time trial to get a second chance to break a 10 year old club record for 11-12 Girls 200m freestyle relay with one of the record holders as a coach cheering them on. The time to beat: 1:55.77 New Club Record: 1:55.12
This is insane.. My daughter swam a personal best in 100m free - a provincial qualifying time, only to end up in the B final.. where she proceeded to swim even FASTER - fast enough for 6th in the A final, and she ends up 12th overall. What an incredible performance from all of these kids.
You’ll be surprised.. this is the difference between age 10 and age 12 at the same meet. She’s about to turn 13, and then she goes from being the best to middle of the pack. It wasn’t until last year that things started to click.
Nice! What were her times? My 12YO had a similar weekend this past one, and hoping for more next weekend - the 50 fly 4th place is misleading as it was a mixed open event so the kids who beat her were 17, 16, and 13 YO boys.
I don’t get the time to make meals like this very often, but when opportunity and preparation come together.. it’s a heck of a thing. Braised beef short ribs with saffron + kale risotto When I tasted the beef for the first time I exclaimed: fuck yeah, I am awesome!
