In Windows 10 if you go to system information somewhere down there you should see secure boot state, and if that's on (and you're not willing or able to turn it off) that's where you might have to manually sign nvidia drivers because otherwise your PC will say 'nope this is weird and scary'

I don't think this is perfect, but this is what I've been thinking about lately with regards to why certain 'difficult' games work better for me than others
