A THREAD. This week lots of my friends will be driving cross-country to Indianapolis for Gen Con, a big gaming industry convention. They'll also be driving home - and they're way more likely to be exhausted! This seems like a good time to pull out my semi-annual standard advice to keep you alive.
I’m flying back from Sheboygan with fifteen pounds of fresh cheese curds and made-today string cheese. On the other hand, my flight-that-replaced-a-canceled-flight (that itself replaced a different canceled flight) now gets me home at 3 am. At least we know I won’t starve?
You guys, I think I’ve figured out how Avengers: Doomsday canonically resolves! They’re not showing Squirrel Girl… YET. #tippytoes4Eva
Tommy Wiseau of The Room has made a shark movie, BIG SHARK - and he sent me a love note! Also, on the back side of the love note, I learn that he really wants me to buy his underwear. Didn’t expect that.
My dog Yoink loves this lake as much as I do. Today we loved it at 5:30am.
If you know Boston, you’ll appreciate this. A perfect Storrowing! (Photo from reddit - www.reddit.com/r/boston/s/R...)
Last night we watched SHARKS VS MERMAIDS, coming in at #156 out of the 189 crappy shark movies we’ve seen - right between Noah’s Shark and Sharkula! Were-sharks turn out to be guys wearing a shark mask, and mermaids turn out to wear a surprising amount of eye makeup for people who live underwater.
Today is the best day, because today is the day that we traditionally play the chicken game.
BALLAD HUNTERS' Kickstarter is funded & in the last 48 hours. You tackle the mystery of why 19th century folk ballads are coming to life; it is fun, clever, & different from anything else I've seen (other than Shanty Hunters, which I also love). Recommended! www.kickstarter.com/projects/pel...
Netflix's THRASH comes in at #11 out of the 188 crappy shark movies we've seen and rated! When the levees break in a southern hurricane, a meat truck full of blood splits open. Know what that means? SHARKS EVERYWHERE. It had great chomps, one big sharky leap, a good flood/hurricane. Solid fun.
To give an example of what I mean about the shore in LONE STAR SHARK, here are two people marooned in open water and being stalked by a shark.
My border collie Yoink has opinions about his strained tendon. OPINIONS.
Ninja vs Shark (#23/186) had everything. Sharks. Ninjas. Sorcerers. Zombies. A lady w/ crazy-eyes. Sentient severed heads. Pearl divers. Eruption blasts. Flippy flippy shit. Gratuitous murder. Undeath curses. Clan betrayal. A youth-stealing guy who turns into a man-shark. And NINJAS FIGHTING SHARKS.
Tonight we’re watching crappy shark movie #186. This week? NINJA VS SHARK! I’ll report in.
Right now I am stranded at the Milwaukee airport for four hours, and I an carrying thirteen lbs. of fresh cheese curds and fresh string cheese. This can’t possibly end well.
I’m glad I’m not traveling for work this week because I can already hear the snowy wind howling outside. I’m going to stay home, make cocoa, write if I have power, and shovel the damn driveway.
Flew to Wisconsin before dawn yesterday. There’s beauty in unexpected places.
I’m currently doing consulting work at several cheese factories, and you know what that means? CHEESE GUITAR.
I made sure not to read it before writing TimeWatch. I’m grateful it exists — but I think the things that it thinks are fun aren’t the things that I think are fun, if that makes any sense. Want some weird trivia? The author of Continuum also wrote the wonderful comic Yamara in Dragon Mag.
