Passed away yesterday: Moroccan poet, activist, and former political prisoner Tahar Mahfoudi. In 2004, he published "أفول الليل"/"The Fading of the Night", a memoir about his experience and incarceration during the Years of Lead.

Passed away last Tuesday: Moroccan writer, journalist, and translator Abdeslam Touil. Born in 1963 near Asilah. Studied philosophy in Rabat. Worked as a teacher. Joined the Moroccan Writers Union in 1992. Contributed to local periodicals and published several cross-genre works.
