Illustration: Near Mt. Chimney, an active volcano, ashes rain from the sky like snow at Route 113. Brendan with his Marshtomp and Nincada look up in awe at the falling ashes. May plays a glass flute for wild Pokémon. A ninja boy leaps out of the ashes to startle a Loudred. A parasol lady and her Mawile pay a visit to the Glass Workshop. Skarmory and Vibrava fly overhead.

Process I used for non-square pixels: 1. Create pixel art with square pixels 😆 2. Upscale the art. I used the xBR algorithm 3. Paint over to add details (since square pixels cause aliasing) 4. Process with a shader or filter. I used the Filter Forge plugin for Photoshop 5. Done!
