It's 10y tonight since we lost our Oberon to cancer, (fore). In a few months, when Aja Lu, (back), celebrates her 18th bday, he will have been gone longer than he lived. And yet not a day goes by we don't miss our lil' black son. He was an amazing character & a total love-bug. ❤️ u Oobie-doobie.
Not as bad as yeterday, but all the air purifier rings in the house are currently RED as they grind through whatever is happening outside (contractors had to open the windows in the room they are working in, FML).
Meanwhile, our poor furbaby is loaded up on gabapentin and shaking like a leaf trapped in the basement.
Why the fuck did I agree to have contractors in here during a work day again???
Sam Neill is unforgettable in so many movies. He really had a tremendous presence, you almost can't pick a bad performance, (even if by chance you can still pick a bad film he happened to be in). Next to JP, my fave role was Vasili Borodin in Hunt for Red October opposite Sean Connery. RIP Capt.
Mmm, that sounds right up my alley and apparently is available locally. This is my current favorite mustard, but I have to order it and have it shipped.
"No one is concerned about the white power... which does not educate my children except to become inferiors. This is power. And when the Republic reacts as it did to the linking of the two words, power and black, it is a confession of what the country has done with its power." James Baldwin
Power out last 4h, which is fine in winter, the furnace still runs on oil with the generator. But in summer, with no AC coming off a near 100F day, we had only just started cooling down. And the storms 100% humidity precludes opening the house in any meaningful way. So here we sit, stifling
Suck it, fireworks fuckers. The puppies and deer will sleep better tonight, thunder, notwithstanding

Srsly, how the hell will any of you survive? Meanwhile, just a few miles south...
250y. Right here, in the heart of where it all started, its hard to parse what an absolute shitshow things have been lately. We arent perfect, we have alot to learn still and even more to answer for. A mature nation would acknowledge this, but we are petulent children. Still, we must rise up.
Fun thing about New England is that you can hang out at a cemetery while you're waiting for your coffee and breakfast at the coffee shop across the street
NO, GOD DAMM IT! I LEFT AZ AND DIDNT CHOOSE NC FOR A FUCKING REASON! Consecutive 100F days with 85%+ humidity is NOT the New England experience i signed up for.

They say work smarter, not harder. But they never say smarter was easy...
Good night, interwebz. May you sleep the sleep of dreams.
"We've seen the pictures on your phone" You mean these?
My couch cuddle buddy, who took over the whole couch, Aja.
This week has been wild. I had to run the AC for 2 days as temps reached record highs. I had to run the furnace heat one night because the house got ridiculously cold. And tonight, I sit on the porch having martinis with my wife during a rainy sunset. Absolutley wild week.
Ugh, what a gross day for a drive. Full sun, temps cruising 90F. 12yo AC in the car was fighting like hell the full 3h drive west. This is NOT what I moved to New England for.
