We’ve been rewatching the Matt Smith seasons of #DoctorWho with Ms 12 and last night was The God Complex. Damn, I’d forgotten how good it is! And Rita is the best companion the Doctor never had!
It may only be worth $1 now, but in 20-30 years time likely to be a sought after collectable. Y’know, among the kind of people who say they collect WWII memorabilia, except the collection is kept in a secret display down in the basement, engraved in German with a heavy gothic script.
Wtf? How is Martian not in the word list? Does the NYT rank it as a proper noun like other nationalities? Really?
Bubble Paladin ftw! I’ve never had such a smooth run from Diamond 5 to Legend! Only lost 1 of the last 10 games! #Hearthstone
It’s decades since I bought @2000ad.bsky.social & the Megazine on the regular - since moving down under in ‘92. But we moved house last year and our new local newsagent stocks both - which is rarer these days than you’d think. 6 months later and it’s become a highlight of my week!
It’s a toss up between Pong, which our Dad got for us in 1976, and Space Invaders on the Commodore PET in 1978.
It’s not like there would be any uber-heavy users in your stre… oh, wait …
A thought? Unless you were a regular reader of romance comics, I wonder if you picked up this issue out of all the other titles available out of editorial interest. For example, the final issue of the long-running Mirabelle or the merger issue of Pink 237 incorporating Mirabelle.
Finally reading Karla’s Choice by @nickharkaway.com (Don’t judge me. If the Artemis crew turned their cameras, they’d still be able to see my “To read” pile). I swear it is impossible to read a scene with Connie Sachs and not hear Beryl Reid’s voice booming out of the page. Glorious.
It’s one of AP’s best, but it’s let down by the smirking Doctor which rather reduces the threat level of the story somewhat. My fave cover will always be The Three Doctors. Except on days when it’s The Ice Warriors.
You're trapped in the last TV show you watched, where are you? (Literally the episode I just watched. And boy, wouldn't it be nice?)
Hopefully Zendaya booked a better dress designer than MJ did in the comics. (Cover by John Romita Sr but I’m guessing the guilty party would have been Paul Ryan on interior pencils.)
Possibly the best ghost story ever written IMHO and the greatest of all the Ghost Story For Christmas adaptations. I love it so much I tracked down and bought an original copy of the All the Year Round issue where the story first appeared.
Most people who watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang as kids were terrified by the Child Catcher. I had nightmares. MAGA thought it was careers advice.

Looking for some TJ ing to do with the fam today and a little surprised by the second sponsored suggestion …
A time for rest, and for catching up with some of the literary greats.
I rewatch The Signalman most years. It’s my absolute favourite; so much so that I have the original issue of All The Year Round from 1866 where the story first appeared.
Tell me you've never seen The Innocents without telling me you've never seen The Innocents. ;) (The Others is still very good though.)
Ah yes, Killraven - another from the Zardoz school of sci-fi fashion. (Although I just checked and Zardoz came out 1 year AFTER Killraven’s 1st appearance!)
If you see this, quote with a robot that isn't from "Star Wars", "Star Trek", "Doctor Who", or "Transformers".
Finally, it has arrived! My favourite season, with every story an absolute belter.* Also, fact fans: only the second season in Doctor Who's entire history to not feature a single returning monster or villain. (There are four in all: three from the classic era, and one from the modern era.)
