This week's brief perusal of FB served me this. I will never understand how HLew has been paid, consistently - for at least 15 years - for wrong statements. Pterry might not be huge in the US, but there's absolutely nae danger of him ever being forgotten.

Aside from the creepiness of gendering his iteration of the plagiarising compliment machine as feminine, I have significant doubts that Dawkins knows Scots language or Scots Gaelic well enough to have any idea if an LLM can write poems in them.

As we'll undoubtedly get more Wes Streeting jumpscares over the next few weeks, can I ask that people consider editing screenshots in this manner? Use the alt text to say who it is, in case it's a different horrifying transphobe underneath! If someone could write a script to automatically do this..?

Below the URL to the article is the thumbnail photo to go with the piece; it's a photo of Health Secretary Wes Streeting on Downing Street, but because seeing his face pop up on my timeline honestly gives me a nasty fright every time, I've freehand written "CUNT" repeatedly over his face to obscure it, in black and red.

Anyway; the Bluesky user wrote "Wes Streeting writes for PinkNews. Not a belated april fool." This post was published on April 3, 2026.

The thumbnail photo pulled from the PinkNews article is a portrait of Wes Streeting's head while he's speaking at an event. The background has been edited to be light blue on the left of the photo and light pink on the right, in an obvious nod to the trans flag.

Over his face, I have edited the photo by freehand writing "CUNT" repeatedly to obscure most of his features, using green, yellow, blue, red and magenta. Each word is at a different angle, the better to cover him and avoid a Wes Streeting jumpscare when I share the screenshot on.

Soooo... The main body of the Tory party, to the right of a centre right party? I suppose that does put you at the centre, if you also dismiss everyone on the actual left as loony outliers.

Listening to Behind the Bastards about Epstein, a quote from Martin Amis' interview of Roman Polanski from 1979 has been rolling around my head. "Everyone wants to fuck young girls." Meaning children. Minors.

Every time I hear news from either side of the Atlantic, this quote from Where The Axe Is Buried (by Ray Nayler) comes to the front of my mind again. It might seem a bit doomer, but in context it's not. I think it's more about how what went before is gone forever and there's no way back to it.

From an article in The Independent about what's going to be cringe in 2026. I'd argue it's been cringe to use ChatGPT (and other similar chat bots) since about 30 seconds after they launched - but no-one asked me.

B&M near me carries a Ukrainian chocolate brand called Millennium, and this felt like the perfect celebration of starting HRT and gender-affirming healthcare.

Either I'm far too online, or the photo editor at the Independent feels a certain way about Linehan and his campaign of bigotry... He can't even claim to be ordering five beers here.

A photo credited to Reuters of anti-trans bigot Graham Linehan, outside Westminster Magistrates' Court. He's facing charges of harassment and criminal damage against a young trans woman.

In the photo, one of the most divorced middle-aged white cis straight men in the world is wearing a white shirt (open at the neck, no tie) and a grey suit jacket, open. Behind him are a plate glass window and automatic door, which reflect buildings in sunlight. Linehan's expression is probably meant to be a smile, but it looks more like a gurning approximation of whatever a black soul; wizened by years of focused hatred and emptiness, would think a smile is. His right arm is raised in what is described in the Independent's photo description calls a "gesture": straight arm and all fingers extended. I don't think he has a heart to go out to anyone - not that Elon Musk does, either.

He's pleaded not guilty, btw; even though Sophia recorded the harassment on the day of the criminal damage, and video of him throwing her phone across the road exists and will likely be entered into evidence.
