Yellow clothing/clothing items have historically marked stigma against various marginalized groups as far back as at least The Middle Ages, yet it has also been a symbol of royalty.
Yellow has such an intensely complicated history throughout the world—like any color, I suppose. In Victorian times, it was seen as a shade of rebellion against repression, but also as a color of contamination—Oscar Wilde was shamed in headlines for carrying a “yellow book” when he was arrested.
Hey… something hecking amazing happened to me and my traditional debut series today…
It’s release day! I am all official. For the first time in my life I don’t just have a book out, I have an audiobook! It’s in stores I have never spoken to—yesterday it was on the Netgalley homepage! It’s been featured in the Library Journal and I have multiple upcoming appearances in just October!
Two official events this week: (Your ticket is also your book) October 8th, Culver City event: www.therippedbodice.com/events-and-t... October 9th, Sierra Madre (closer to Pasadena): fablesandfanciesbooks.com/events/33993...
Giggling. Remembering when I had to QA movie packages for work and make sure things like this didn’t happen. It was tedious. But it still hilarious when studios would send a package with this kind of mistake. If the cast of Saved By The Bell had to recreate Saved! Who would be who?
Hey look, Temu is ripping off my book cover! Does this mean we've made it? If you want to buy the book for real and support me, my publisher, and THE AMAZING ARTIST WHO DESIGNED THIS COVER (Lisa Perrin), you should buy the book, not this stolen junk. fablesandfanciesbooks.com/item/-Az7-_I...
Aaaaah it’s happening! fablesandfanciesbooks.com/item/-Az7-_I...
I need your help. One of my events is at the most adorable freaking bookshop in Sierra Madre, and I need my east-side LA cozy murder mystery / fantasy lovers to know about it. We're gonna have a night of witchy talk and book reading for my launch too! fablesandfanciesbooks.com/events/33993...
In regards to sales, lists and acknowledgement would be cool but more than anything I’d love for The Hearth Witch’s Guide to Magic & Murder to reach enough people that my publisher says, “ah heck yeah, give us two more.” (Book 2 is already slotted for 2026)
Hey Los Angeles, grab your favorite tea, we're having a night of hygge and MYSTERY! Grab your tickets now! (Your ticket is your book) e.sparxo.com/Kiri-Callagh...

One of my favorite things about visiting my in-laws in Florida, I get to swim in the rain. (Until the thunder, then I gotta hide under cover)
Art by Lisa Wiley, commissioned by my publisher. The first time Avery and Saga meet. I can’t share the full image without my publisher’s watermark, but I wanted to tease it where you could just focus on their faces first. #booksky #fantasybooks #lgbtqbooks
I love the weird little footnotes I got to put throughout The Hearth Witch's Guide to Magic & Murder (available Oct 7th). #books #fantasybooks
