Another re-make: A bobcat! Super pleased with this one. Tested some new techniques, so it’s my lightest one ever, and probably the fastest to craft. Very complex paint on this one. Like the others, it has removable eye mesh, adjustable straps, padding, and full lining.
Here’s one I’ve been wanting to do for a long time: a mountain lion! Gift for a friend. Fully lined and padded with removable eye mesh and adjustable straps (top strap is removable).
And a vid so you can see the shape in space and the back lining and straps. My handiwork is not as clean as I’d like yet haha. I should mention as well that the inside is padded for comfort and to make the eyes “inset” so your eyelashes don’t rub on the mesh. I always hate that sensation.
Black bear mask re-do! I’m working with some new materials and techniques. Paper clay and paper mache on this one. The nose is sculpted and there’s more depth in the face and ears. This is also fully lined with adjustable straps and removable eye mesh! Gift for a loved one. More to come… ;3
All the stickers came out well! I messed up by not getting the fullbodies on transparent vinyl so they could be layered better, but I’m pleased with them anyway. Haven’t figured out what to do with them all but look forward to giving them out in person :]
Fun things arrived today! I designed this specifically to be a sticker. :} Native wildflowers!
Mountain lion sketch for an upcoming painting as a gift for a loved one. I don’t usually share WIPs, but I enjoyed doing this sketch and it’s about to be buried in digital paint. :]
Fresh juneberry jam, still hot, on a homemade roll from scratch right out of the oven. And mint tea. INCREDIBLE.
June... My dad’s beloved dog who passed away this spring. A little portrait of her surrounded by nasturtiums and cosmos like Dad grows in his garden. She was much loved and is much missed by us all. I’m having this printed on a magnet for Father’s Day.
Very snug. Just not quite satisfied with the paw pads. super hard to sew properly with the appliqué and not sew the lining together. I had to redo a lot.
They’re old af and used to have vinyl pads, which I updated to mochi minky. Unfortunately, appliqué on these completed ones was kind of a mess. I’m not totally happy with the paw pads, but good enough for now.
Finally completed the refurbishment of these ancient feral handpaws today. Tedious project!!
Message I found in a geocache today. Clearly part of someone‘s Spanish homework worksheet, but feels oddly profound?? “I never close the doors of the cages of my animals.”
Abandoned piece I just decided wasn’t going to turn out how I imagined. Ah well. It’s been sitting there for a while so I decided I may as well post it.
Another redux. the elastic muzzle was too bouncy to be a secure holder. So I built another from nylon straps. Much more steady. And can still also be worn with the mask!
Keychains! Not selling these just yet. This is kind of a test batch. I bagged them up with mini stickers and will likely just give them out to people in person.
