Native gardener and supporter of wildlife-sustaining landscapes. Dog foster owned by two pups. Avid reader of fiction and non-fiction. Taking care of my tiny corner of the earth.
My sweet baby that I had to euthanize this past week. I miss her dreadfully.
In the midst of all this chaos, I find gardening to be a calming influence, whether planning the upcoming garden, starting seeds, or weeding and replanting a bed. As Helena Rutherford Ely says in her classic gardening book "A Woman's Hardy Garden," "With work in the garden care and worry vanish."
Here’s my winter sowing sleeping in the yard (I sow mostly native perennials).
