I startled out of my thoughts. “Sorry. Was trying to figure out where I’d like to go to dinner.” The half-truth would do, I was pretty sure. “For my birthday, I mean.”

And indeed, she just clucked and shook her head. “I just asked if you’d decided, clearly you haven’t.” The note of disapproval was light, so my failure to have an acceptable answer immediately to hand wasn’t yet a problem.

“Yeah,” I said again, because it was the best option I had.

Man this is so much easier to photograph these days.

These kids have absolutely got a deathgrip on my brain at the moment so I decided to draw them. For the record: both of them have absolute "how dare you fuck with my boyfriend" vibe going on in their lives, but somehow they get differential results on that.

He be chillin’. Some people got pandemic puppies, we got a pandemic python. His name is Mo (short for Mahogany), and he is an adult royal python approximately the length of a bathtub. Oldest is very pleased.
