It was fun last night at Union Station trying to figure out who went to see BTS vs Jimmy Eat World/Pup.
And Tug of War! (Our archive has a bunch of pamphlets for various corps field championships in 1917/18) (Bonus CAMC hockey team.)
The first song I saw her perform in 1998 at age 15 was Precious Things and I got a little emotional thinking that might also be the last song I see her perform. (A 2029 tour can happen at age 65, right? 😭)
Saw Tori Amos on Tuesday for the 11th time and I think it ranks in my top three. What a phenomenal performance.
Was bidding on some FWW silk embroidered postcards in an online auction only to see now that with only three hours hours left I was outbid...... By my doctoral supervisor 🤣 Tempted to text him to say that I need this patriotic cat more than he does.

*Nerd Alert* Finally received my CWGC volunteer grave marker list and I'm eager to get out this weekend and inspect them. Total of 22 headstones with 17 from the First World War and 5 from the Second. Am I going to pulling the service files of the FWW casualties? Definitely. 🗃️ #cdnhist
Thoughtful thread about the multiple competing experiences of the Somme. I visited Beaumont Hamel in 2022 and if one can have a "favourite" war memorial, this is mine. Walking the fields dotted with cemeteries every few hundred meters is sobering & an understanding you can't gain from a map alone.
Plot twist: my cat has joined me and now does as well, but we're on different flavours. Still gotta clink the pill bottles like wine glasses though.

Coming to you live (and very quietly) from the TFL Corporate Archives because I can't jump/shriek for joy in the reading room. I've been looking for 4 years to have confirmation that shelter newspapers were banned. And I finally found it. 🗃️

For the third year in a row, a spring porch tenant has expanded their family. No idea if it is the same bird every year but we've taken to calling her Birb-erella and we have come to a mutual understanding that checking our mail is not a violation of her sovereign territory atop the light.
