4/5 As the project matured, Sophie became a mentor herself. During his Bachelor's thesis, the highly talented @fedegrippo.bsky.social made substantial contributions and therewith became a well-deserved second author of the story.
3/5 Along the way, Sascha supervised and mentored @sophiezoe.bsky.social as she grew into a fantastic scientist. Sophie took ownership of the project, transforming an idea into a coherent scientific story through creativity, persistence, and leadership.
2/5 The story began with the inspiring @waidhouse.bsky.social. He recognized an important biological question and was persistent enough to tackle what many would probably avoid - generating stage-specific transcriptomes from tiny lateral roots. That dataset became the foundation of the project.
A new "Dr." on the office door. Congratulations, Dr. @seinabnoura.bsky.social 🎉🌱 A proud day for our community @dompsfr.bsky.social @cibss.bsky.social @uni-freiburg.de
I got once again reminded how fortunate I am to work with such a wonderful group of people. Thank you all! 🌱
Lab retreats - are our favorite control experiment: same people, different environment, fresh ideas :)
Seasonal greetings from Freiburg 🌱 The Molecular Plant Physiology Division wishes our colleagues, collaborators, and the scientific community a joyful holiday season and a healthy, inspiring New Year. Thanks for the shared curiosity and passion for plant science — excited for what 2026 brings!
Working with an international team means being invited into new worlds — including Christmas traditions I’d never encountered before. Feeling grateful for this cultural richness. 🎄🌍 Can you guess what this is?
The future of @cibss.bsky.social @uni-freiburg.de is about teamwork, curiosity, and collaboration across disciplines. We are thrilled to be in this together @kraftlabfr.bsky.social @archaellum.bsky.social @kleinevehnlab.bsky.social !
It was fun to have Katharina, Grace, and Jonathan around in the @elkebarbez.bsky.social and @kleinevehnlab.bsky.social labs! 🌱 It was great to discuss and explore the world of plant signalling together! #Jugendforscht #PlantScience #CIBSS
🧵1/ New preprint out! We reveal that ERAD, a protein degradation pathway, selectively targets intracellular PILS auxin transport facilitators to control growth. This expands ERAD's role beyond protein quality control, right into developmental regulation. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Science, dancing, graphic design, yoga, leadership, nail polish and lots of creativity - I loved it!
🎉 Huge congratulations to our own @aroessling.bsky.social for winning a poster prize at this year’s #ICAR2025 conference! A great example of the strong early-career science coming from @cibss.bsky.social bsky.social and @biologyunifreiburg.bsky.social @uni-freiburg.de
Ohhhh - our @biologyunifreiburg.bsky.social faculty's website has been relaunched! Check out the new look at uni-freiburg.de/bio-en/ #WebsiteRelaunch

If you see this quote with flowers from your gallery. We can all use some beauty right now.
I just branched out to BlueSky! 🌱 Looking forward to planting ideas and growing a new network here.
