The arts have impact. Incredible impact everyday. And we rarely hear how because the path is almost never so direct.
I just took an outdoor shower. It is 75 and sunny with a light glorious breeze. My dad and I dug a bushel of littleneck clams this morning. And I am going to sit on the back deck for an hour with a can of Narragansett and read Moby Dick, which I found at the dump when I was dropping off trash.

Gee, I wonder what could be making people not want to move to the United States to work in the world's most lucrative and fastest growing industry. (Source: Top Takeaways, Stanford AI Index Report 2026 hai.stanford.edu/ai-index/202...)

It took 20 years and the most corrupt administration in U.S. history but it seems like the much-feared future of normalizing social media as a giant propaganda machine is unequivocally here. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
2021 Republicans: How dare tech companies talk to government about moderating speech!!! We’ll create a whole false narrative about it and take it all the way to the Supreme Court! 2025 Republicans: We run things now so
