Because 'Discount Nyarlathotep' was way too long.
Masters of the Universe (2026) I cannot believe this was actually good. That first trailer was so godawful it should be studied for future purposes on how to NOT make a movie trailer. And before you ask, yeah, even Jared Leto is somehow good in this. I'm just in awe.
The Princess Bride (1987) A rewatch with friends, some who had seen it and some who hadn't. What more can I say on the matter? It's The Princess Bride, my dude.
Name a movie that flopped at the box office but is actually great. #FilmSky The Nice Guys was such a great movie, I still can't believe it didn't do that well. The acting and writing were some of the best I've seen.
The Incal by Alejandro Jodorowsky and Mœbius (1981 - 1988) Despite having seen plenty of similar plots and characters in similar stories, it felt like seeing them for the very first time. I just can't describe it. Read it if you haven't.
Granblue Fantasy Relink (2024) I cannot believe the second best Monster Hunter game on Steam is a Granblue Fantasy game. Just absolutely in awe.
It's usually one of these four. And I'm currently going through one of them to make a guide for some friends.
Godzilla: Here There Be Dragons by Frank Tieri and Inaki Miranda (June 2023 - Nov 2023) Very good five issue mini-series about Francis Drake having a run-in with the King of the Monsters.
Dancouga Nova – Super God Beast Armor (Feb 2007 - May 2007) Unlike other Mecha anime, this one just sucks.
AKIRA by Katsuhiro Otomo (Dec 1982 - June 1990) "Akira still lives among us!" Having fully read it I can see why its so beloved and a classic as a work of science fiction. I now dread debating whether to watch the movie or not.
Assassination Classroom by Yusei Matsui (July 2012 - March 2016) Matsui you beautiful bastard, you did it again. It's a short read of 180 chapters (with some bonus ones) spread across 21 volumes. I do encourage reading it.
.hack//SIGN (April 2002 - Sept 2003) After years of having only seen bits and knowing the synopsis, I finally sat down and watched the whole anime. Can't remember the last time I felt warm and fuzzy inside at the end of an anime.
Devil May Cry 5 (2019) Felt good giving this another play through years later on my PC after having multiple upgrades between when it came out and now. Still might be my favorite game in the series despite Trish not being playable.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotouge (Feb 2016 - May 2020) The nicest thing I can say about this manga is I feel better about my own writing after having read it. I guess it was a short enough read to see what the big deal was, but there just nothing here.
Super Mario Galaxy (2025) You know, for a movie calling itself Super Mario Galaxy, it didn't FEEL like a Super Mario Galaxy movie after the first fifteen minutes. Real impressive considering all the planets visited. Should have been a Sunshine movie instead if you ask me.
Chainsaw Man by Tatsuki Fujimoto (Dec 2018 - March 2026) Can't believe the ride's really over. Was certainly something else that's for sure. Looking forward to whatever Fujimoto comes up with next but for now, I can just feel content with the ending.
Digimon Story: Time Stranger (October 2025) Easily the best Digimon Story game on the market as of this moment. I'm so glad it survived the Development Hell it was forced into and hopefully that won't happen with the next game Bamco gives us.
Titan A.E. (June 2000) Pretty cool movie that made me realize I need to see more of Don Bluth's works.
Came the Mirror & Other Tales by Rumiko Takahashi (Feb 2022) Nice collection of short stories/one-shots. Would recommend.
Digimon Liberator (The Webcomic) (April 2024 - March 2026) This was a pretty enjoyable read. I do wish reading this made me better at playing the TCG, but alas. At the very least, I hope this gets Bamco to consider more Digimon manga in the near future.
If you see this, post a character that starts with (I guess) U Ultraman Gaia
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (May 2005) On one hand, it was nice to finally sit down and go through a GBA era FE game. On the other hand, it's got some very annoying quirks and design decisions that I feel bring it down. Worth a playthrough though.
John Wick (2014) Damn good movie. Wish I saw it years ago, but better than never, right?
Yeah, that checks. Wonder how it got so tied with Ghost though?
Dynasty Warriors: Origins - Visions of Four Heroes (Jan 2026) One of the best DLCs to come out of Koei Tecmo in recent history. Had some annoying quirks to it, but nothing detrimental. Also had some of the better story telling in the series, which isn't a lot but it was surprising.
