The squirrels dug up and ate all of the fancy sunflower seeds that we planted but the normal ones that fell from the bird feeder took root. So, of course, we dig them up and planted them where we wanted them and now they’re looking reeeeeeal good.
Why yes we do have an adorable baby rabbit that appears in our yard every morning and evening.
Destroyer of flowers. Eater of peanuts. Backyard World Cup watch party participant.
I’ve been walking a lot. 15-20 minutes at a time, 3 or 4 times a day. I also bought a jump rope. Game changer.
Dodged a bullet/giant tree limb today. 20+ foot log fell from the silver maple and we (and more importantly, our neighbor) managed to escape without damage. 50+mph wind gusts suck.
Good mail day. After a number of months, the @ianmcque.bsky.social Mileships book has arrived!
I’m not much of a take-videos-at-shows guy but here’s a little clip from NIN last night. I last saw them 32(!) years ago at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul, with Hole and Marilyn Manson. Trent sounds just as good today as he did back then. The stage production was pretty great as well.
Here’s a video of a fox in our backyard last night; it’s carrying a rabbit in its mouth. I think it went under the fence and hid it in the neighbor’s yard because it came back the other way two minutes later without it.
I’m from Milwaukee and agree that the Chicago flag is the gold standard. Our Milwaukee People’s Flag is pretty dope but the morons in our City Council keep trying to waste time trying to make another one.
The WMSE Backyard BBQ is tomorrow. If I’m not there it’s because I’m drinking wine with my mom in Kenosha. facebook.com/events/s/the...
Received my 2025 Italian Referendum voting package today. I’ll drop it at the post office tomorrow in hopes that it gets to the consulate in Chicago by 5 June. 🤞🏼
