Not THAT Kristen Stewart. Cooking, reading and growing things in Nashville.
I was mowing the lawn, listening to an audiobook, when I noticed a man in his twenties trying to get my attention. “Excuse me. Do you live here?” I nod in reply. “Every day I take a walk and every day your flowers make smile. Some days I think I walk just to see them.” 🥹
Tomorrow is the last day of early voting! No line today at the Scarritt Bennett Center. Election Day is THURSDAY, if you don’t make it tomorrow.
Today we got a postcard in the mail and now I think I need to buy extra postcards and stamps to send similar messages because this made my week 💕
Be a good neighbor. I had just planted the last of my seeds in the bald patch after a pile of branches was picked up. Our street is wide enough that no one ever needs to park in the grass, and this family’s cars on their side of the street are never, not ever, on the grass.
Dear LinkedIn, I really appreciate the vote of confidence, but I don’t know that I’m qualified to run a healthcare system with 100 hospitals.
It’s honestly so fun! You can choose some interests and they give you potential pen pals worldwide, a limited amount per day, but I am waiting days for messages from Europe throwing it back like when I had a pen pal in Wales in 1990.
I went to the lake for two days and came home to 80-100 zinnias that needed to be cut. I just taught two third graders who live on my block how to do it, making bouquets for their families as we went.
It’s such a bummer that the Dish service I never signed up for will expire in 2418 years.
Lexi was Luke Kornet’s #1 fan in 2016, as evidenced by this selfie taken on his 21st birthday at Jersey Mike’s on White Bridge. Ten years later, he’s a NBA finalist. Luuuuuuukkkeee.
My kids are wise enough to ask whether I’d find it fun to make my own flower arrangement. I love arranging flowers so win-win-win.
It’s always a good idea to have a current headshot, just in case.
Planted some of these around the edges of my lawn last fall. Flowers are a delight.
Is this a “barter a dinner with a friend with a chainsaw” problem or a hire someone problem?
Merry Christmas! Wishing you so much joy this Christmas season and throughout the new year.
Ada’s all in bloom and makes the whole den smell lovely. Still can’t believe this was a twig propagation in July.
She saw how prominently she was featured on the Christmas card and started posing.
We relocated our festivities for a while as Lexi works a shift at the bar. It opened at 6 for anyone needing a drink after dinner.
For three people, one pie was sufficient; we went Dutch apple.
This lemon tree was a twig propagation in July. It needs a name because it’s large enough to be considered a roommate. Ideas?
Got a brand new tree and half of one section’s lights are out. Checked connections, probably have to take it back. Not great for the aforementioned seasonal sadness.
Toddler bestie needed a +1 for her preschool Halloween carnival and I had the perfect sweater for it.
