this made me laugh

a cloudy day at sunset dunes park which used to be a great highway, with the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean on the right. I have never in my life felt so called out by an author btw

...end but then it got stuck. I think maybe it started over a bunch of times, too, but I don't remember.

And some parts of the story got trapped outside of the story space and other bits lost their way. Someone was trying to keep the story from ending, I think.

But the story wanted an ending.

Endings are what give stories meaning.

I don't know if I believe that. I think the whole story has meaning but I also think to have a whole story-shaped story it needs some sort of resolution. Not even a resolution, some appropriate place to leave it. A goodbye.

I think the best stories feel like they're still going, somewhere, out in story space.

I remember wondering if this story was an analogy about people who stay in places or...

The online form requires giving your full contact details. You can also contact your local police department or sheriff’s office, Bonta said.

Sellers who are found to be violating California’s price gouging statute can be subject to criminal prosecution and could be imprisoned for one year in county jail — and/or a fine of up to $10,000. “Violators are also subject to civil enforcement actions, including civil penalties of up to $2,500 per violation, injunctive relief, and mandatory restitution,” the Department of Justice said.

I am really trying not to be a conspiracy theorist but also I keep thinking about this ProPublica article I recently found on a shadowy religious group planning on using “controversial AI software to enable mass challenges to the eligibility of hundreds of thousands of voters in competitive states”

“Ziklag’s 2024 agenda reads like the work of a political organization. It plans to pour money into mobilizing voters in Arizona who are “sympathetic to Republicans” in order to secure “10,640 additional unique votes” — almost the exact margin of President Joe Biden’s win there in 2020. The group also intends to use controversial AI software to enable mass challenges to the eligibility of hundreds of thousands of voters in competitive states.
