My library haul today is ridiculously apropos for 2026.

Now two different authors I copyedited for last year had book launches in Seattle but on days when I was out of town — I am so happy for them and so sad for me to miss the celebrations! April 18: Celebrate Dorothy Van Soest's latest in her series of social justice-oriented mystery novels.

I love this. Now wishing on a star that the next pop-up romance recommendation — maybe following a like for "The Ruthless Lady's Guide to Wizardry" — is "Stories Are Weapons" by Annalee Newitz.
