U Maine has a great map and graph showing how warm the oceans are getting: ClimateReanalyzer.org And it's intense. That gray line at the very top is 2023; the red one is 2026 and the orange is 2025. guess what the other top gray line is! yup, 2024.
Guess what? California got the precipitation it needs this year, BUT - it melted already. Uh oh - the "snow-water equivalent" represents the amount of water held as snow. And it looks really different this year.

My home river is the Kittacuck (which meant “great tidal river” in the Massachusett language, now called the Blackstone) and yes, it was described in 1990 as the most polluted river in the US by the EPA.

The pedestrian underpasses at the tide gate next to Laney College is full of debris carried there by people who have nothing else. Mattresses, cushions, plastic containers are all carried through as the underpass floods, spilling over into the channel that goes to Lake Merritt. #KingTide
