I understand this is a thing that seems like common sense but a lot of those low quality 2 story buildings are not seismically sound. Being in earthquake country doesn’t make it impossible to build tall, just look at Tokyo.

weird OCD thing I have is changing the version stored in my apple music/itunes to be ones that include the typeface. Like I needed this version of the Vampire Weekend:
Washington and Culver Blvds, Culver City 1963. Looks like any intersection anywhere in LA but is now the heart of a pedestrian and transit friendly intersection with tons of pedestrian activity, businesses, restaurants, etc. We could do this all over LA!
