On the World Day for International Justice, LCW reaffirms that justice is not achieved by issuing arrest warrants alone, but by executing them. Most ICC arrest warrants in Libya remain unenforced, denying victims justice and fuelling impunity. LCW calls for full cooperation with the ICC.

In response to the alarming escalation of violations against migrants, refugees, and asylum seekers in Libya, Libya Crimes Watch (LCW) submitted an urgent appeal to the UN Special Procedures on 1 July 2026, calling for immediate action to end the violations.

استجابةً للتصعيد الخطير للانتهاكات بحق المهاجرين واللاجئين وطالبي اللجوء في ليبيا، قدمت رصد في 1 يوليو 2026 نداءً عاجلًا إلى الإجراءات الخاصة بالأمم المتحدة، دعت فيه إلى تحرك عاجل لوقف الانتهاكات، وكشف مصير المختفين قسرًا، وضمان احترام القانون الدولي.

📢 The 2026 Global Torture Index ranks Libya as "Very High Risk", citing widespread torture, ill-treatment, and entrenched impunity. LCW contributed documented evidence to the Libya country profile, supporting efforts to expose violations and advance accountability.

Between 22 and 25 June 2026, LCW, in partnership with the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ), concluded an advocacy campaign on the sidelines of the 62nd session of the UN HRC in Geneva, as part of its ongoing efforts to advance accountability and keep Libya high on the Council’s agenda.

On the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, LCW stresses that torture remains widespread in Libya amid persistent impunity. Libya ranks among the high-risk countries in the 2026 Global Torture Index, to which LCW contributed through its field documentation.

في اليوم الدولي لمساندة ضحايا التعذيب، تؤكد رصد أن التعذيب ما يزال نمطًا واسعًا وممنهجًا داخل السجون ومراكز الاحتجاز في شرق وغرب ليبيا، في ظل استمرار الإفلات من العقاب. وقد صُنفت ليبيا ضمن الدول شديدة الخطورة في المؤشر العالمي للتعذيب لعام 2026، الذي ساهمت رصد في إعداده استنادًا إلى توثيقها الميداني.

LCW is concerned by the decision of the eastern Libyan government endorsed by the HoR to ban nationals of Sudan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, and Somalia from entering Libya and order the immediate deportation of people deemed to be in an "irregular situation."

تعرب رصد عن قلقها إزاء قرار السلطات في شرق ليبيا بمنع رعايا السودان وإريتريا وإثيوبيا والصومال من دخول البلاد، معتبرةً أنه يكرّس التمييز ضد المهاجرين ويأتي في سياق تصاعد الانتهاكات بحقهم. وتؤكد رصد أن إدارة الحدود لا تبرر اتخاذ تدابير تمييزية أو مخالفة لمبادئ عدم التمييز وعدم الإعادة القسرية.
