I did end up going to the bookshop and in my defense, having had a look at the writing style and subject on a few pages, it looks absolutely perfect for where I'm going. Yes, I also got cake (and ice tea, not pictured).

I might not be the biggest fan of another heatwave week but my orchids are thriving. Both lost all their flowers last year but I kept them and kept watering them.

From earlier this evening, a walk on the longest day of the year.

A big open sky with wafts of white clouds spread across it, a strip of darker body of seawater below and further down, a band of pebble beach with light and shadows running across it.

Finally, I will conclude my celebration of #EarthDay 2026 by showing the little artwork I bought as a gift to myself the other day from a local linoprint artist because I absolutely love foxgloves. Now I just need to find a spot for it in the studio.

Speaking of the woods, it's one of the reasons I love living here and can't believe we get to live so close and that I can walk through it several times a week if I want to.

The Swedish part of my holiday ended yesterday, I didn't want to leave with weather like this.

Currently packing for a trip and while the suitcase is still currently empty (and not even taken out of the cupboard), I have now picked and packed the essentials.

I dug out an old camera friend and D helped me source batteries for it, just in time for the magnificent seafret that rolled in on Monday, which I got some moody test prints of.

Seeing a cherry tree in bloom on our street, which has grown ever so slightly bigger and more sturdy in the 2,5 years we've now lived here. This year the flowerheads are noticeably larger.

Today's wholesome activities: - Reading a local paper with my morning tea - Opening a surprise Galentines gift from a friend, a beautiful notebook from an art exhibition - Went for a long walk in the sun, down to a local cafè for takeaway tea and a cinnamon bun, sat on a bench overlooking the sea.

I've been in a reading slump lately but earlier this week I had an epiphany and digged out 'Karitas' Vol. 2 from my book cart of unreads, lent to me by my mum. It's the perfect distraction, a story about a middle aged artist in post-war Iceland trying to make art against the passing of time.
