Pink lemonade blueberry & highbush blueberry. Flowers coming in on both, just trimmed back old growth. Saw some bumble bees buzzing around so hopefully have a few berries this year. Highbush seems more established; pink lemonade seems to wake up a little slower. Both berry healthy after 1st winter.

Fresh Mulberry tree cuttings in cinnamon+ apple cider vinegar + water. Hoping some will root... would love to start a few bushes or plant a few trees.

So sad about this. My scarlet colonnade apple tree hasn't woken up... there is browning in the buds and the trunk feels light & dehydrated. I think it may not have survived the winter. Or maybe the hot / cold / hot / cold variability at the end of winter stressed it out too much? I'll miss you tree.

Emerald Colonnade Apple Tree Earlier bloom on the green apple this year, fear the blooms are getting further unsynced... red apple looks all but dormant. Cold snap next couple days, hope flower holds to pollinate red. May need light early spring to balance the sun placement. Grow strong cute tree.

Mericrest Nectarine's first bloom. Blossoms all opening in this heatwave. Really beautiful vibrant petals. Excellent structure from last year's growth. A few dead branches, I'll trim back before the leaves fill in. Cool how the flowers are at the branch tips in clusters. Like little pink fireworks.

Plum twins' buds are aggressively sprouting, no flowers yet. Very impressed by last year's growth. Intriguing how branches shrunk over the fall / winter. I began to weave the branches through the fence but some of them don't even reach it anymore... May make espalier more difficult? I'll keep at it.

Nectarine buds about to pop & these thick blossoms look soo cute... hoping the rapid swings in temperature / weather can stabilize so they'll hang out a while. Branches may be a little young to hold stonefruit, but if they pollinate, I may see how big they can get. Forsythia's already bringing bees.

So this is Forsythia... It's the first bloom since it was planted 2 years ago. It was mistakenly sold to me as witch hazel. Guess the plant boxes were swapped at some point? Either way very beautiful bloom this year & vigorous branch growth year over year... now to look up cultivation & uses. 😅

We are better than this.

It took 3+ months for the first generation of these green beans to develop a single bean indoors. I planted the indoor bean & in about a month the plant is already producing beans... Life's ability for adaptation is truely amazing 🤯

Emerald & Scarlet Colonnade Apple Trees Started yellowing and falling from the bottom up. Kinda nice ombre gradient probably becomes more pronounced as it grows. Added fresh charcoal, compost, soil & mulch along with the others. Buds look smaller/fewer than the first year, maybe develop overwinter?

Highbush blueberry Nice bright colors, branches looking thick, looks like good bloom set for next year. 4-8 berries this year, think the inside bloom messed up the timing of the berries. Hopefully it will establish outside & have a more natural cycle next year. Will cover soil for the winter.

Pink lemonade blueberry bush Nice reds on the leaves & next year looks good, branches turning red. No berries this year but looks hearty for next year, my take a few to produce. Will cover soil, coal compost & mulch... Leaving side stone dirt free... Maybe mulch or stones... Still thinking.

Nectarine Tree is getting really vibrant while changin colors. I was worried when the leaves started turning yellow, but something about this orange hue with deep red veins is reassuring. Also the buds are looking plump for next year already. First tree to change this autumn... others still green.

Green beans are ridiculously easy to grow too. Buy a pack of seeds and plant them, you'll be snacking for free. I have a small patch of burgundy green beans this year & been pulling zips weekly since June.

Emerald & Scarlet Colonnade Apple Trees Great start. Brief beautiful flowers early spring, few natural fruit, will hand pollinate. 2 of 4 made it full term, but eaten by critters as soon as they start to turn red. Pick while green early Sept & ripen inside. Bad ants & aphids: hose, h2o2 & Neem.

Methley Plum Trees Real hearty growth from both. Started to weave longer branches through fence, seems like espalier will be a good route, spring / early summer growth was most flexible, by Aug branches start hardening. Little buds on the big one, maybe flowers / fruit next year?

Mericrest Nectarine Tree Impressive growth this year. A bit of yellowing on the leaves (maybe not enough sun or needs more soil / fertilizer?) Seemed to be targeted by bugs a bunch too. Had to treat with Neem oil and water with hydrogen peroxide a few times. But already has a lot of promising buds.

As a sprout, this tomato plant was withering from the root. I cut the top & planted it in a larger pot. Its growth towards the light is truly inspiring. ✨🌱✨

Cucumber is almost ready. This is the third flush of burgundy green beans this round is ready to pick in less than a week 🤯✨

Repotted & separated the weeping ficus into new pots. Can you believe all three were in the white one? Should have plenty of room to spread out now. Excited to see how they grow! ✨🌳🌳🌳✨

Also planted a cutting of the only remaining tomato plant and seems to be doing okay still after about a week... Hope roots are starting to take shape.

Setup two more bean trays ~2 weeks ago. One with Maxibel and Tendergreens, the other has burgundy, wax, and some assorted others.

Tough competition in the bean tray... Looks like a Lima is the heartiest, then a couple Gold & Tendergreens, a few Bluelake are hanging on but don't look too productive yet. Maxibel starved themselves out after very impressive initial growth. Maybe over/under watering?

First mature flower bud from the pepper plant! Not sure if these are self fruiting or need pollination, but a couple other flowers are forming so hope the timing works out.
