If you are into graphic novels and you are also into politics, you CANNOT miss this. It’s about Taranto and its all-devouring steel plant, it’s about class struggle, it’s about many other things and it’s beautifully written and it’s beautifully drawn. Go get it and hold on to your rage.

Unexpected fieldwork throwback with a rather unexpected finale. Rough field notes from some years ago. (No mens fingers got injured) #anthropology #ethnography

I started learning French and I think I am doing quite well. Got the basics already.
«Louis Althusser hésitant à entrer dans la Datcha tristes miels de Claude Levi- Strauss où sont réunis Jacques Lacan, Michel Foucault et Roland Bartes au moment où la radio annonce que les ouvriers et les étudiants ont décidé d’abandonner joyeusement leur passe » made me laugh.
Since I got a cat, I’ve been thinking of Mary Douglas a lot. So much matter out of place lately.
This is the illustration I made for @otherwisemag.bsky.social but it’s also an invitation to support our editorial collective. You might want to give a look at the incredible workshops on storytelling we now offer: www.otherwisemag.com/workshops
On this otherwise gloomy Mancunian Monday, Naked Fieldnotes. A rough guide to ethnographic writing (my chapter is about ethnographic drawing though!) made it to my desk 💥
