What if movement didn't have to be big to matter? Unbound is a film woven from 20 bodies, 20 stories, and 1 thread of connection. Join us for the premiere on July 29th at 6:30 PM ET. www.eventbrite.com/e/unbound-gl... A reflection on my process for this film on my blog: liapas.com/2026/07/11/u...
It’s #PortfolioDay! I’m a multidisciplinary artist whose visual work is #SciArt #symptomatology and #anatomy #embroidery. I’m also a writer and composer. If you’d like to support what I do, you can tip me on ko-fi ko-fi.com/lia_pas
#WIPWednesday • Finished supernova remnant SNR 0509-67.5 for my largest belly mole so you get a full photo today! I plan on stitching the smaller moles before I do my other surgical scars. #SciArt #embroidery
Filled Practice/Project/Process Journal LXXI (7 January to 7 July 2026) and started PPP LXXII . Brain sticker was a gift and the rib cage sticker I bought so long ago I forget who made it.
#WIPWednesday • I’m almost done supernova remnant SNR 0509-67.5 for my largest belly mole and need to decide whether to do another scar or some of my smaller moles next. #SciArt #embroidery
#WIPWednesday • I got a lot done on supernova remnant SNR 0509-67.5 to represent a belly mole this week. I had another mild PSC flare which wore me out so more #embroidery than writing got done. #SciArt
#WIPWednesday • Started adding some oranges to supernova remnant SNR 0509-67.5 to represent my largest belly mole. #SciArt #embroidery
#WIPWednesday • Continuing work on supernova remnant SNR 0509-67.5 to represent the largest mole on my belly. Two blues so far and more colours to come. #SciArt #embroidery
#WIPWednesday • The Milky Way to represent my hysterectomy scar is done, and now starting on the supernova remnant SNR 0509-67.5 to represent a large mole. #SciArt #embroidery
It’s #LeakWeek for Spinal CSF Leak Awareness. Here’s my #SciArt #embroidery sensorium (2016) featuring a spine. CSF leaks are common in the #MECFS community but often go undiagnosed. More information here: spinalcsfleak.org
#WIPWednesday • I think I’m done the Milky Way! I’ll have a closer look in the sun tomorrow. I’m also back to my usual routine and have been preparing for tomorrow’s Seeing Symptoms workshop. #SciArt #embroidery
#WIPWednesday • My brain fog is starting to lift so I actually got some #embroidery done this week! All in bright yellow. This might be the last colour for this section and then I’ll move on to other areas. #SciArt
#WIPWednesday • I’ve had so much brain fog lately it’s been hard to remember to pick up my #embroidery instead of watching shows or going on social media. I did get a bit of bright yellow done though. #SciArt
I asked Husbandchef to cut up a pear for me and he did it William Burroughs style 😂 For those of you who need more context: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cut-up_...
#WIPWednesday • I got home from hospital on Monday but have been working on catching up on my email since the hospital internet was so slow. Not much stitching done lately, but I’m very pleased with the bright purple section! #SciArt #embroidery
#WIPWednesday • I missed last week because I was so sick. But I’m improving in hospital & have done a fair bit of stitching. Working on the more sparse colours & had to send Husbandchef out for a couple other shades. #SciArt #embroidery
Hello from the hospital, where I have so many windows! Last year I was in a basement room so this is a huge relief. Yes, it’s my liver giving me trouble again.
#WIPWednesday • I didn’t do much stitching on the Milky Way because of nausea and brain fog due to liver issues this week. Yes, my skin IS that yellow right now. #SciArt #embroidery
#WIPWednesday • It’s wash out the sulky day! I’ve stitched all the major groupings in the Milky Way and now I can refine the colours against the black linen. #SciArt #embroidery
I got myself a speedweve #darning loom! I probably could have chosen an easier #mending project than a delicate cashmere blend scarf to try it out on but I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. I still need to work on making neater edges but that’s just practice. #VisibleMending
#WIPWednesday • Continuing with the light green in between stints of editing my mitosis embroidery sampler pattern. #SciArt #embroidery
#WIPWednesday • Moved from light purple to light green this week. I’m fully recovered from the last liver infection so there may be less stitching and more editing getting done. #SciArt #embroidery
For #BrainAwarenessWeek I’m sharing my brainiest #SciArt #embroidery pieces. Here’s woman in skull (2016), not a brain per se, but the part of the skull where the brain sits, imagined as an architectural space.
For #BrainAwarenessWeek I’m sharing my brainiest #SciArt #embroidery pieces. Here’s neuraesthenia (2017), a piece depicting the heaviness I feel during post-exertional malaise (PEM). PEM often starts in my cognition then spreads out through my body.
#WIPWednesday • Still dealing with a liver infection but haven’t had to go to the hospital which is good. Lots of stitching got done as I recuperate! I’m on to the subtler light colours now. #SciArt #embroidery
For #BrainAwarenessWeek I’m sharing my brainiest #SciArt #embroidery pieces. Here’s a detail from the wandering ghost (2024), my piece about the vagus nerve and my experiences with polyvagal theory.
For #BrainAwarenessWeek I’m sharing my brainiest #SciArt #embroidery pieces. Here’s she was tributaries (2016), a depiction of the electrical storm I feel in my brain when I have cognitive fatigue from #MECFS.
