The longer I was in my career as a children's librarian in the U.S., the more we were moving away from events being a place for imagination and dreaming, to events needing to support learning outcomes and STEM.
A lovely thing is that many of the events for children here have a surrealistic, dreamy energy.
Festival dos Canais. Throughout the city for the next five days there will be art installations, performances, and other celebrations. We caught this dance piece and what was really lovely was it took place next to a playground where a bunch of kids stood on the climbing structure enthralled.
All day the sun was a hazy orange ball. The light it cast was incredible though.
Evening walk supercut. Unfortunately the excellent sunset is due to wildfire smoke. Part 1:
Walking past last night, we see a round animal feeding at the bowl. It's not a cat, but much better: A HEDGEHOG!
So, one of the ways we walk our dog is past this boarded up gate where someone has placed a blue tray with a container of water and another of cat food.
