The Library Faery
@libraryfaery
Library cryptid disguised as a Director. historian, textile artist, craft dabbler. Go read a book - you really need to do so. Read a lot of books - learn something outside of your confirmation bias. The crows demand it. And go outside.
Winter is my favorite time of year when the vultures gather to mate. They chose my woods last year.
Book du Jour: There's romance, it's semi spicy (you can have a love story without sex you know) but the writing, the characters make up for that, for those of us who prefer the story line. Anything more I say would just spoil it, but I read a lot of it out loud to spouse - that good. #booksky 📕💙
For those upset about kids in the grocery store. I think I need a kazoo. Be happy I don't fly often.
Do you find this to be true? Sometimes, I do. Choices made, people gone, changing times.
I leave you all with some lovely Zinnias Daughter is growing along our shared driveway. Don't know the kind - they came in a seed strip from Park Seeds.
And my road, where the creek across breached. 10 am before on the left, 7pm after on the right. (The road is still muddy - just thin coat.)
Today - before and after shots. 5.6 inches of rain fell on our town in less than 3 hours. 10 am is the before on the left, 7 pm are the after on the right.
Ridiculous things. Want the watermelon, will not actually come outside. The crowing was my older banty rooster, Woody.
My favorite antique store is going out of business, one of those where you never know what you are going to find in there type of stores; one time I found a mini cat inside an tall octagon shaped jar. So I went yesterday for one last farewell, and I found one last thing - this vintage spider web.
So today was supposed to be the Babies first time out, since they are grown enough. Well... kinda. In total 8 of the 19 came out for part of the day; by 4:30, they had all retreated to the coop for a nap in the heat. We try again tomorrow. Prior to today, I'd cleared all that of heavy brush.
Without downloading any new pics, what’s it like being in a relationship with you:
Stacking snail #3 of the five I have parts for, and a side question into making "donuts" as I choose my county fair entry project for the year; I have to "normie" it down for this year. Kinda. 😁
I've spoken of Friend Dog many times; she was one of the many dogs an elderly friend rescued at his house; she chose us to live with after his death. Daughter got this great happy photo of her happily running free in the back field; she's a best girl and happily home.
My daughter is filling in at work today, and found this in the middle of the highway. And at 7:20 this morning, the dog that was stolen from over the county line and dumped in my town was outside my house - but I didn't know him at the time. But the owner now knows. It's animal rescue day.
I didn't intend to be a miner, but I suddenly found myself inside a cave with a pickaxe and no idea how I got there...
This is the best quote I've seen in some time- succinct, to the point.
To which I add - Unlearn your classism. Unlearn your elitism. Unlearn your ableism. Unlearn your ageism. Unlearn your sexism - because it goes both ways, and you are harming little boys as much as you are harming little girls when you define them buy a color, by a type of toy, by behavior.
See all these little round balls - GRAPES! Huge crop this year. Almost time to net the vine.
TF is that even supposed to mean??? Where's that dog... Ahh, can't find the dog's picture, so here's my judgmental cat who has not time for this ridiculous shit.
No selling any of it right now; building stock for Christmas - but my stacking toy snail obsession right now.
It started as what should have been a one off project. This was me grabbing random yarn and working, not checking yarn size or if things went together. Now it's organized and become a semi obsession. Here's the first two, and parts of the next two. #crochetonbluesky #crochet #artonbluesky
and apropos of nothing- turtle porn. If you've never seen turtles having sex, that's a sight to see as well. The male will literally throw up his front legs, make a long high pitch "squeeeeee" noise. And then he will get his move on, dragging his mate behind him by his yeah...
/9 Paralyzed back end baby - he was a fighter, he was gonna take me on if he could have while I played paparazzi. But he was holding his own for a time - don't know what happened to him; he probably didn't survive - but he got this far!
also - the fabric. I have a collection of replica feed sack fabric which I plan to use this year. A few extra pieces don't hurt. A piece that might go in my Giftmas quilt. Plus this fun retro print fabric. What am I going to do with it? Using and collecting are two different things.
Timeline cleanse - volunteer irises. I've ripped so many out, but these got to stay. Interesting that the now white used to be purple as well.
