This is interesting! The kidney stone med? Is only to be taken by men. The last time I looked, I'm not a man. 😱 I assume there are exceptions to the rule...... #Medsky may I suggest explaining the exception, whatever it is, when prescribing to women!
They eye guard in place for the night. So you don't rub it in your sleep
I agree where he says not just ME. I'm an RA (plus other stuff) patient and my sleep is rarely restorative. I can and do exercise, which helps, but not always. I wear a Garmin watch which tracks sleep, body battery rest and physiological stress. Of course it doesn't know I'm chronically ill!
Two days in a row I've achieved my goals, after all this sinus saga! 🎉🎉 Now I'm on a mission! Did I mention my VO² Max has improved by 1 point? At this early stage that's pleasing too. AND the sleep improvement continues! My ENT surgeon has one very happy patient!
And done!!! 🎉🎉 FINALLY back to some semblance of normality. Amazing what being able to breathe can do! 😁
I think I'm getting there! 😁 Might even make my standard walking goals of 4 kms & 7,500+ steps today. Sitting on 6,630 steps and 3.36 kms now and it is only 1:45 pm. 🎉🎉 To celebrate, here's some pics from my creek walk just now. #ChronicIllness #surgery #sinuses #MovementAsMedicine
🧵 3 Plus just noticed my sleep score from last night! Never had this high before! 😱 And that's without breathing properly yet post-op!
YIPPEE!!! #surgery The benefits are starting to show! 🎉 I've not had a body battery reading of 96 for as long as I've been wearing a sports watch. Nor has my Pulse Ox (O² sat) been this high for years! Can't wait to get back to exercise & improve my VO² Max! BP is improving! So happy!! 🏋🏻♀️🏊🚶🏻♀️💪 🧵1
Post-op report! Got home about 5:30 pm yesterday. Nasal passages completely blocked. Blood secretion so wearing nasal bolster (below pic). Then blood started oozing out of right ear duct. This was not mentioned in any paperwork, so rang hospital: happens to some patients. 🤷🏻♀️ #surgery #sinuses 🧵 1
Ohhhh! I did wonder! 🤣🤣 I will try my bed in Zero G position, but still likely to roll.
ready to rock 'n roll in the morning. Hoping I am not overestimating the expected positive results from this! 😳 I'm expecting: BP back to normal VO² max ⬆️ Fitness & strength ⬆️ Improved SLEEP! 😁 After the healing, of course!
I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know I'm negative for Covid, RSV and Flu A & B. Pre-admission requirement! #surgery
Can across something quite interesting today. #RA #ChronicIllness #RheumatoidArthritis. This is a 🧵, by the way. So a friend and I were discussing psychosomatic conditions and I googled something and up this popped! 😱 My reaction was WTF? Go to Part II!, 🧵1
This is the page in Medicare where you can check how you are registered. Being on the same card does not necessarily mean you are registered as a FAMILY. I have hidden my numbers for privacy. #australia
Just for the record, I don't just do #MovementAsMedicine stuff! Here's roses 🌱 and nails. And I think I'm out of matching lippy.
Where I am right now. If you are in Melbourne, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! (03) 9523 5110 www.healthinbalance.com.au
I am finally getting there. Today I got my 4 km walking goal for the first time since my December 2nd ankle fusion surgery. Will probably hit 8,000 steps by the end of the day. #ChronicIllness #Arthritis #surgery
(2/3) I will write a proper article about this shortly, but at the moment still getting back to normal. Just for a very quick comparison, here are 2 Garmin physiological stress graphs. Left: the day I was hospitalised. Right: so far today. Blue is REST, orange is body under stress.
(2/2) infection prior to surgery. So not sure when, or where, surgery will be yet. I was just cleared to go back to normal exercise regime, now this. 🙄 I'll add updates as I go.
#ChronicIllness adventures. My BP's gone weird again so back on BP med. 🤬 This has only happened post surgery, no idea, what's going on. Looks like I'll be doing a 24 hour BP monitor gig. 🙄 Then I have a weird bruise that's appeared out of nowhere, but have been off anti-clot med for 2 weeks now.🤷🏻♀️
My most steps in a day since surgery! 2,001. Mind you step counters have issues being accurate when crutches, walking sticks and knee scooters are involved. But i'm getting there! 4 more days with walking stick!
Given I'm down to 1 crutch, I've retired the crutches and brought out my fancy, flowery walking stick! Of course the pic is just a section of it, hard to shoot the whole length!
Still working at it. Have added a few things like push ups and calf raises. Nearly fell taking the moon boot off for the calf raises. I should have been sitting - I wasn't. Surgeon will smack me! #Surgery #PostOp #ChronicIllness #Arthritis
How's my brother-in-law's head? I forgot to mention him.
So here's my next 6 weeks. Obviously still can't drive, whereas with the left ankle I could now drive. I have one less bit of metal this time, but the screws are the same. Very happy with progress! 😁
UPDATE on the ankle fusion! What a day! Returned knee scooter Got cast removed Wheelchair across to hospital for x-ray Back across to see surgeon Surgeon happy with x-ray OK to graduate to moon boot + crutches Visited friend who had hip replacement on Monday (same hospital). Got home, am zonked!
I am by nature a barefoot person. I knocked my little toe on a wheel of the knee scooter and now have a rather dirty looking bruise. This is a toe I have a screw in (where don't I have screws?🤷🏻♀️) so I hope I haven't damaged anything. *sigh*. I broke the nail (scooter again) a couple of days ago.
Now, where was I? Keeping my exercise up! I will point out I could NOT have done this when I had the first ankle done at the end of 2023. My shoulders & wrists were not great: then in 2024 we discovered WHY! (See post below). Now my CRP is 1! 💃 Inflammation under control #ChronicIllness #Surgery
