Ex GOP, ex evangelical, convinced Christian universalist, bereaved mom, married. I love Jesus. I hope you like books, birds, and cats as much as I do. God is love, and love wins.
Good morning from Wild Thing. I think he's mad at me for some reason.
Good morning and happy Caturday. She knows she's not supposed to sit on the stereo. Did I make her move? Of course not.
Good morning. We bought a scrawny Rose of Sharon start at a yard sale a few years ago. I think we paid a dollar. Now it's easily six feet tall, with beautiful double blooms.
Good morning. This hibiscus plant produces blooms that are easily eight inches across. I'm always amazed.
Wild Thing sneaks outside sometimes, then flops down and waits for me to scoop him up and haul him inside. Maybe he remembers when he lived outside for weeks, tangling with vicious strays and starving because he was too stubborn to come back. I'm glad he's safe now. I think he's glad, too.
Definitely! Do you have to groom the mats out of that lovely long fur? One of our sweetest cats often had matted fur. Every time I tried to deal with it, she went from sweet to ferocious. (RIP, Miss Priss.)
Good morning. Here's a happy little bee on a cantaloupe flower. We don't usually have good luck with melons, but here's hoping.
Good morning. Wild Thing, on duty at his favorite bird surveillance station.
Good morning. Back when we had chickens, we would often see them having dust baths in any handy patch of dirt. Yesterday, I saw a thrasher doing the same thing. Pretty cute. (The pic is not that same thrasher.)
Good morning. Can you find the cat? Yes, that upholstery is hideous. No one ever sits there except the cats.
Good morning. Gardening friends, can anyone help me identify this plant that showed up in one of my planters? I think it's hypericum hypericoides (St Andrew's Cross). If it is, it will get too big for a planter.
