We’re in zone 10b. We also primarily do container gardening. The determinate varieties that grew really well for us were Ace 55, Supremo, Patio Choice Yellow (cherry), and Cream Sausage. All Botanical Interests bush variety seeds. No joke, those yellow ones grew like gangbusters

First harvest of veggies from last year. Four bowls of yellow cherry tomatoes with an assortment of peppers and potatoes.

Another harvest of even more tomatoes including yellow, ace 55, supremo, and a variety of peppers and tomatillos.

My flavor of neurospicy is spending $100 on materials to convert a $5 hardbound notebook into a spiral one cause it was a cute design but I like spiral better. Is it perfect? Nope Did I have all the right tools? No Did I have fun? Oh yeah Would I do it again? ABSOLUTELY

Today is this guy’s Sweet Sixteen 💖 He’s currently spending it doing his favorite thing, sleeping. He doesn’t hear as well these days, but he still purrs all the time. Happy Birthday my sweet boy!

One tip I came across last year was using a fan on the seedlings to help them get stronger before outside transfer. And while antidotal, we did end up growing bonkers amounts of tomatoes last year with very little space.

Ok Bluesky, I need suggestions for an easy drip irrigation system. Emphasis on EASY. Last year I diy’ed ollas out of terracotta pots, but it would be nice to have something for when we’re away from home. The garden is mostly containers. New to the garden this year: 🌈 🌽

Proudest moment of the year thus far, yelling at my Republican rep so much on FB that I earned a “top fan” badge 😂🤌. (This is one of the only reasons I still have a FB at this point.)

It’s been awhile since I did a garden update. This was our peak harvest, which I’m honestly shocked by considering it was our first year. We planted a new set of tomatoes, so I’m curious to see how those do as we go into fall. We also have been dipping our toes into canning (it’s mostly salsa)
