The Education Department would tell NOTUS that the competition questions were “developed, judged, and scored independently by the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation.” The foundation would not respond to a detailed list of questions.

this isnt newsworthy but i do think its interesting: some of the Operation Metro Surge defendants are moving to have the restriction limiting their contact with co-defendents lifted bc they are each others closest friends and necessary emotional support 1/2

Mr. Doyle does not challenge the restriction prohibiting contact with alleged victims and witnesses in this case (provided that the government provides the required No Contact List). However, Mr. Doyle challenges the prohibition on communication with co-defendants due to the significant hardship it imposes. Several of the co-defendants are among his closest friends. They socialize regularly and rely on one another for emotional support, advice, and community. Among Mr. Doyle’s co-defendants are the best man at his wedding, friends he considers brothers, and people he depends on for support as he navigates his divorce. Therefore, the prohibition of contact with co-defendants imposes a hurtful, unfair, and unnecessary burden.

against my better judgment i looked into the IPEC case and OOF. these facts are so bad. none of the kids have actually run away or recieved GAC! the "harm" alleged is pretty openly "it violates our rights that we cant abuse our kids as much as we want bc we're worried they'll run away to get GAC"

ok now that the left side has gone up a little bit more, and looking at it straight on, i think this is benign. i think scaffolding must be modular: n+0 scoffolding is not wide enough to reach all the letters, so they need n+1 scaffolding, doubling the width.

so many problems with this article. it doesnt seriously engage with any of the arguments made by the pro-court expansion side. the linked source is WSJ editorial *against* it. it cites cherry-picked cases in which SCOTUS overruled Trump without engaging with statistically significant bias

District Courts: Trump’s challengers have a 60% win rate in the nearly 240 orders issued by federal district courts. Republican-appointed district judges have ruled against him in 55% of the cases before them. Democratic-appointed judges have ruled against him in 63% of the cases before them.

Circuit Courts: Trump’s challengers have a 59% win rate across just over 90 orders issued by federal circuit courts. Republican-appointed circuit judges, however, have given 84% of their votes to Trump, while Democratic-appointed circuit judges have given 85% of their votes against Trump.

Supreme Court: Trump has a 90% win rate in the 23 Supreme Court orders included in our analysis. Virtually every case was decided on the Court’s so-called shadow docket, with the right-wing majority often refusing to provide much, if any, reasoning for its result.
