33 years ago, the last Russian military units left Lithuanian territory. Despite the complex nature of the process, Lithuania succeeded in ensuring the withdrawal of Russian troops stationed on 🇱🇹 territory. This diplomatic victory was the final step in ensuring Lithuania's independence.

On 23 August 1939, a non-aggression pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union paved the way for the WWII. In protest against the Soviet occupation, OTD in 1989, 2 million people in 🇱🇹 🇱🇻 🇪🇪 stood in the Baltic Way, expressing the will to break free from the evil empire.

🇱🇹 ranks 6th globally and 3rd in Europe for relocation, placing it as one of the world's best places to live and move to. The Global Relocation Index highlights Lithuania’s abundant green spaces, strong banking infrastructure and high quality of life among its key strengths.

Civil and democratic forces of Belarus need our further support. Lithuania will continue doing its part. International community must continue pressing Lukashenka‘s regime to release hundreds of its political prisoners and stop repressions.

Representative of the Russian Embassy in Vilnius was summoned to the Ministry today. Lithuania protested tonight's large scale attack against Ukraine‘s capital Kyiv, during which the building and the property of Lithuanian Embassy in Kyiv were also damaged.
