I want to live in a world of equality, justice, & health. Believer in science & nature. Ottawa, ON resident. Sometimes too much Canadian politics & not enough Verin & Tomas. She/her Profile alt: me. Woman with short hair, glasses, & a green plaid fleece.
I found a sliced off Rudbeckia triloba on the City property near my house. It looks good in a vase. Art work by my Aunt, Judy Wood, a Saskatoon artist.
Sitting on my balcony in the shade on a perfect summer day with a good book. Grateful for paid vacation days. #LifeIsGood
My cats had their 2yo check up and were scolded about their weight. So we have eliminated their mid day kibble. It was necessary for kittens. They are not amused. Verin is a tyrant when hungry and is most likely to smash things in protest. Pray for all my breakables.
We've had half a dozen storm cells overhead today. They have all looked pretty much like this for intensity of lightning strikes.
We are celebrating my daughter's birthday today. She requested a fondant decorated cake. I am a complete fondant novice, and it shows. I'm sure it will be delicious.
Excuse me. Who ordered the hail on the staff bbq day? Parked and waiting for the worst to be over. Good grief!
Verin is not really impressed with being used as a pillow. She is also not a fan of sports cheering.
I spent some time shaking dirt off grassy weeds in my garden. My silly watch thought I was swimming. I wish.
I swear my cat loves the sound of breaking glass and breaking pottery. Thar solution would just not work for her.
My son and I visited my niece, and had great fun playing with her kids' toys. I swear her kids were in the room with us.
Comfort food is breakfast for supper. The cheese and green onion are well hidden. Homemade goodness.
Walked along the river near my house. Scared a lot of nervous ducks away from some open water. Saw graphic evidence that at least one turkey had a very bad day. Looks like the local coyote pack had a delicious meal.
As soon as the hockey was over, my son and I made a couple of batches of jam.
My order arrived from Propellar Coffee. My smol cat, Verin, thought the box was perfect.
Poor girl. I dutifully had a collar on my first cat. Woke up one morning to discover her missing collar trapped in the stove element coil. It did break away but not until she pulled hard enough to permanently bend the coil. So I think I know how you feel. Picture of first cat (as an adult) for tax.
I just took my latest one for framing. I did my first one at the beginning of the pandemic when the tradition of doing a Paint Nite event with my adult daughter for her birthday had to be broken. She moved on to Diamond Art. I keep on with painting.
This big guy had a 22 month weight check up at the Vet. He has weighed in at 9kg (just shy of 20 pounds). He was declared to have "a nice waist" and his height was tested by making him stretch up to retrieve a Greenie from the counter. His much smaller sister was declared in need of reduced food.
Normally Verin looks like her paws are tiny. When she stretches them out to make biscuits they seem huge for such a smol cat. This is the closest I've come to capturing a photo of her full extension.
