I’ve been making spindles from fallen branches & polymer clay & then spinning yarn with them.

Four handmade spindles with colorful clay whorls and hand-carved shafts. Each one has a bit of handspun yarn wound on it.

Two more handmade spindles sitting next to two skeins of handspun yarn. The yarn is marled: made from one ply of brown and one ply of white spun together in a barberpole effect.

If it helps, here are a few pics from a cardigan I made last year. The green running stitch is just to mark where I’m going to cut. Harder to see are the 2 lines of backstitches on either side of the cut to reinforce the steek. Then cut! Fold back and stitch down the steek edges. Knit button bands.
