Making things is deeply satisfying, particularly in times of world madness. I commend to you the making of things.
In other news, I seem to have taken up woodcarving. Left, maple spindle I made yesterday. Right, cherry spoon I made tonight.
I’ve been making spindles from fallen branches & polymer clay & then spinning yarn with them.
If it helps, here are a few pics from a cardigan I made last year. The green running stitch is just to mark where I’m going to cut. Harder to see are the 2 lines of backstitches on either side of the cut to reinforce the steek. Then cut! Fold back and stitch down the steek edges. Knit button bands.
