Previously Chicago, currently Portland Technical writer, audio nerd, drum fiend, friend to all cats. I can take a sad song and make it better.
This is a cat check point. Relinquish your most recent cat picture on your phone.
I didn't realize that you had to log in to read it. However if you tap the "read" icon in the URL bar, you get access to the whole thing, photos included.
This isn't specifically a health item but I find the concept of "energy waffles" to be completely strange!
This Eddington poster slays me. First, the iconic image by David Wojnarowicz; his response to the AIDS crisis, his diagnosis, and the government's lack of response. Coupled with the adage "Hindsight is 2020". Not just an untrue statement in this context but also a very specific year. Incredible!
OMG! Lem's just won a James Beard award!!! Steve would have loved this!!
If you see this, post a fictional artist/band that you would love to see live.
I would like to see Rosa Salazar animated a dozen different ways. It's pretty cool that she's been animated twice already; in Undone and Alita: Battle Angel.
A favorite movie watching experience was seeing Blue Velvet opening weekend in college and being wholly unprepared for the wild ride. Then, gathering weekly to catch Twin Peaks with a roomful of excited folks. RIP David Lynch. Thank you for bringing your visionary weirdness to all people.
A Steve masterpiece. He did photo retouching after college even working on the Naked Raygun Home of the Brave album art. @electricalwsop.bsky.social
I had forgotten what Belinda Carlisle was listening and dancing to in the Mad About You video.
Aw, thanks!! I'm on the first two albums, Nozomi and Love Can't Save This Love. A recent pandemic-era album, Emergency! And two eps: Catch 22 and Huh. (Look at baby me in an old photo!)
I've never wanted to be at the Jacob Javitts Center more than I do now. Happy to see a few of my favorite people hanging together.
Rest in peace, beloved Mary Gaffney. You had the best ears in the biz, resulting in incredible broadcasting at WFMT (Pictured here, barefoot) & WBEZ. I learned so much from you & was thrilled to visit your forest home, equipped w/ stereo shotgun mics to bring the outside in. Truly one of a kind.
