@mayor.nyc.gov this is the 7th time since May that this elevator has been broken. They don’t fix it. This is every summer. There’s wheelchairs, pregnant people, and elderly living here. I need help organizing a real tenant union and getting representation :(.

Another #Otakon has passed. Some thoughts on it: found a variety of panels I liked and could get into. Dealer’s room was really lackluster. Too many D&D die selling booths, too many booths selling cheap teas, and a lot of cheap hair pins. Many booths I saw in the past were missing this year.
Having a blast at #otakon. Dressed as #gyokuyou from #apothecarydiaries. Yes I have been asked if my giant belly is real. No it is not a prop 🤣. It just happened to work out that way. #cosplay #sewing #anime #manga #dc #otakon2026 #fiberarts
I have a new toy! The #Janome #coverpro3000 professional!!! It’s a #coverstitch machine that chain stitches and also top stitches! It’ll be great for knits and Bjj nogi! I look forward to all of the great things I can make with this. My collection of various machines is complete.
#Simplicity #vintage #1950s pattern 00582 is finished! I’ll definitely make the belt longer in the next iteration since this one is too short to tie a bow. I suspect that’s one of many differences between the original pattern and this reprint. Anyway I’m off to my next vintage #sewing adventure. :)
I’ll have to make a wearable mock of the jacket with a different base color and use the leftover cotton fabric from the dress as a contrast. #sewist #1950sdress #fiberarts #vintage
Making progress on this #princess peplum jacket. Still need to add buttons and finish the lining. I sewed the lining in but need to hand sew it to the waist. I always procrastinate the last few steps of every pattern. #sewing #sewist #wool #fiberarts #charmpatterns
Bought a thread rack which has really helped me realize I’ve got a lot of thread in similar colors. It feels like the space is complete now. Wouldn’t mind a larger rack for serger thread. Right now I keep those stashed in a drawer. #sewing #sewist #fiberarts
Making fast progress with this #peplum jacket! Can’t wait to finish it up. #charmpatterns #princesscoat #sewing #vintage #sewist #wool #fiberarts
I’m making a #petticoat loosely based off of Simplicity’s #vintagepattern and the #Edelweisspattern tutorial on how to make a petticoat for the #walkawaydress. I have had this #griest #ruffler foot for almost 25 years and I’ve never used it.
In my quest to use up fabric and make room for more (because of course!!) I’m taking a detour from the princess coat since I don’t have pink thread yet.
Getting to work on a hot pink and black #wool peplum jacket using the #CharmPatterns #princesscoat. Buying this pink wool from #fabscrap was a gamble because it was all that was left on the bolt and less than two yards.
Love these photos taken from the #mta #subway #nostalgiaride by @ Ericstrausmanphoto4events (instagram) I’m wearing the beautiful #charmpatterns #princesscoat that I made with red #meltonwool from #metrotextiles. The ocelot hat is a #vintage find from a #peddlersvillage.
Another fun weekend at the #Mta #nostalgia #holiday #train ride. I wore my #butterick #walkawaydress. Someone even recognized it as “that pattern everyone on Reddit hates” 🤣🤣🤣 Does this count as a form of #cosplay??
I’ve been doing a lot of #sewing lately, none of it #cosplay related! Although I suppose you can consider this a kind of cosplay. Here is my finished garment for the #Butterick Saturday Morning dress, also known as “the other #walkawaydress”.
