@lo-orbit
dayjob as an motion AD/animator nightjob as a comic book maker?
Cleaning up hard drives, finding weird shit I don't remember making.
Ho yeah babby. Finally making plans for the basement screenprinting studio! Took more measurements, made a scale model in blender.
Hell yeah, what a beautiful dream. It'll probably take at least a year to make it real though.
Okay I've got this VB script spitting out an html file with inline css that puts all the images in a nice grid so I can evaluate as part of my process!
Fixed his shoulder, dropped that arm down a bit. (squints and shrugs)
This is as far as I got tonight with this painting. Trying to get better at anatomy. I'll put some clothes on him later.
Working on the pose/layout. I've been working on my figure drawing and hoping to get better at proportions. Next I figure out some clothes for the nekkid 'Aquateer' I guess?
Okay I am having way too much fun goofing off with this. Somebody stop me.
Spending some time thinking about how I want to approach cropping a motion graphics project for vertical, horizontal and square. I think something like this makes the most sense. Keep the safe area mostly square and the main project area on big giant square to begin with and crop in.
Made a GIF! Painted from a random generated prompt - "Grimace in a retro TV Station"
Apparently I made up this weird ideal work schedule and made a chart. I don't think I've ever lived like this, but it would be nice.
WIP tonight's random illo, 'Grimace in a vintage news studio' having fun with a pulpy painterly look for this one lol
We don’t usually see each other‘s headers. Here’s mine. (Quote post with yours, if you want to and if I’m not so late you haven’t already…)
WIP lil painting of a friend's D&D an ex-smuggler gnome rogue, Elden. Playing around with some new techniques for a soft painterly look
Sketch of a bud's D&D character a jolly gnome rogue named Elden who used to be a smuggler, but is trying to turn his life around.
Messing with this low poly face rig I made to help me keep track of character's proportions while drawing comics. Here are two characters skull-shapes side by side!
I mean look at this, it looks like it's in primo condition too!
Separated out some more parts so I can quickly sketch out different face shapes with cheekbones, and the over-eye fold shape of the brow. #drawingReference
Playing around in Blender making some anatomical face reference for a character, still haven't figure out grease pencil yet to paint some eyebrows on him.
Trying to make some brushes that feel good for gooey smooshy digital oil/acrylic type painting in CSP.
I always think it's funny when maps just overlay the word MINNEAPOLIS over the twin cities until you zoom in. As if St. Paul is just a minor eastward inconvenience.
Gonna have to be very careful I don't start collecting old broadcast TV equipment.
