@nytimes.com Aaron Boxerman telling us he learned about the relationship between Bibi and Trump two months ago, considering nothing about their relationship was “dizzying and unpredictable” before then.
Impossibly stupid. I can’t understand how anyone can worry about DSA calling for free buses and affordable housing when there’s a goddamn fascist in the white house. Infuriating.
Taking my son for his driving test today and apparently in NY you just show up at a random street corner in the Bronx. No office, no booth, no one with a name tag, just a little street sign to let you know you’re in the right spot. So strange.
Ernie was too hot to wait for the groomer so I trimmed him myself. It was an odyssey, beautiful and terrible. I’m convinced patches of hair grew back as I worked. And by the end I had more hair on me than Ernie had when we started. Anyway, now he looks like he’s been scrapping with large rats.
Reminded me of this Airbnb I stayed at a few years back when I took this vid.
Rocky is not a basking hound and has no formal training in basking. He’s just . . . an extraordinary prodigy. We’re so proud of him. 😭
Rocky takes his turn glaring disapprovingly while Ernie gets a well-deserved rest. Exhausting. For the sake of these doggos I hope there isn’t much extra time in the match.
USA scores! Ernie hops up on the couch to let me know he’s having none of it and he doesn’t like it one bit. Then he retreats to a safe distance where no one can pet him to glare disapprovingly. He is a complicated creature.
Ernie and Rocky watching me watch sports. They’re watching me because they can’t wait until it’s over and I pay attention to them again.
Make it make sense. If 20 votes are required to pass legislation and there are 38 Senators (19+19), what ties is the Lt. Gov. going to break? Nonbinding resolutions? Motions of order? Or is the 20 vote threshold more like the filibuster - a purely procedural hurdle?
Thinking of an America when we had presidents who made us so proud that even our heroes were thrilled to meet them.
I am so tired of seeing this shit take. I don’t actually think we need to find a woman to blame for this predicament. Ginsberg did more to advance justice in her lifetime than most could do in dozens. It’s not her fault America elected a monster to appoint her successor. Cut out the scapegoat BS.
Infuriating. TN systematically punishes its cities for their politics and diversity. The impacts are felt most by the urban poor, who are disproportionately Black. The TN GOP just seized Memphis’s school system. Now they want to eliminate its representation in Congress.
Almost like the VRA was doing what it was supposed to do! And if anyone wonders why Black representation increased so quickly in the ‘90s, it was because the Supreme Court handed down Thornburg v. Gingles in ‘86, establishing a framework for VRA Section 2 violations. 1/2
Deeply un-American. “Students are neither catechized on the Commandments nor taught to adopt them,” the ruling said. “Nor are teachers commanded to proselytize students who ask about the displays or contradict students who disagree with them.” They’re on the wall of every classroom! Required by law!
The boys love spring. Rocky in the sun, Ernie in the shade. Some things remain right with the world.
Oh look. My first two posts in this thread. In which I explain why serving in Unit 8200 when you are 20 does not mean you are a spy 30 years later. Betcha never saw that coming.
Possible our replies crossed. You deleted the reply you say came first, but I didn’t see any reply from you in my notifications until after I posted my original reply to your Israeli spy article at 12:52 and I responded when I saw it a little after 1pm. And it’s you. You are still spamming replies.
Yesterday I placed my first Trump “I did that” sticker next to the price on a gas pump and today I am mourning the relatively sane, non-sticker-placing-and-running person I used to be. . .
Finally. Good on the UK. I hope Ye eventually gets the help he needs, but until that happens and he accounts for his behavior, he should be a pariah. He is dangerous.
So now we’re going to pretend Trump wasn’t running the economy into the ground BEFORE he started a couple of wars of choice that upended energy markets? Memory-holing tariffs and trade wars? Why is the American press so broken?
@nytimes.com does an entire piece on the proliferation of Trump’s portrait throughout DC and never once uses the term cult of personality or discusses the obvious comparisons to dictators and strongmen. They treat it like a silly public interest piece on the evening news. Baffling.
