Tonight (& last night, too) we had both multiple backyard fireworks, and very loud & close thunderstorms. It was enough for Daisy to raise her head & look at me - she’s usually unflappable. But we had many dogs who hid in closets, under blankets, or on our laps. (German Shepherds & Dobermans). 🥰

I make a mean baklava, and have for decades. I never use pistachios- always almonds and lots of walnuts. Everyone loves it. Yours will be great! Here’s a photo of one of mine - it was for a crowd, so I made it industrial-sized! Have fun!
There were very few music producers like Clive Davis. He was legendary in his ability to see & present great talent. He never got “old”. He was 94. RIP🕯️

I had a similar situation with my rescue Dobe. She had no name, so the shelter called her Cora. 1 1/2 months there, she never responded to it. Like you, I asked her to pick a name, and suggested dozens. The one that she liked was Daisy, so even though there are a LOT of them now, she’s one, too!
Hoorah!!! I can’t afford exotic orchids, but I’ve lived with some of the common but lovely ones for years. I hope you’ll share your garden journey!
