@reignfc.com Eleven Years ago today at Memorial Stadium. Reign vs Thorns. Color guard for the anthem was TSA. (Who even know they had one?) Final 3-0, with goals by Fishlock and Yanez x2! And actually selling seats in those south stands! Another in the Harvey legacy.

Are you sure about this map? Here's a photo of a data center in downtown Seattle, just blocks from the Amazon campus where a LOT of tech executives work. It's also near where a lot of them live.

Probably called Spanish Flu because the belligerent nations during WW1 were censoring news of it. Spain was neutral though, so they reported it honestly, making it look like only they were stricken. Probably started in Kansas. Should we call it the American Flu? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish...

The 1918–1920 flu pandemic, also known as the Great Influenza epidemic or by the misleading name Spanish flu, was an exceptionally deadly global influenza pandemic caused by the H1N1 subtype of the influenza A virus. The earliest probable cases were documented in March 1918 in Haskell County, Kansas, United States, with further cases recorded in France, Germany and the United Kingdom in April. Two years later, nearly a third of the global population, or an estimated 500 million people, had been infected. Estimates of deaths range from 17 million to 50 million,[7][8] and possibly as high as 100 million,[9] making it one of the deadliest pandemics in history.

The outbreak did not originate in Spain,[49] but reporting did, due to wartime censorship in belligerent nations. Spain was a neutral country unconcerned with appearances of combat readiness, and without a wartime propaganda machine to prop up morale,[50][51] so its newspapers freely reported epidemic effects, making Spain the apparent locus of the epidemic.[52] The censorship was so effective that Spain's health officials were unaware its neighboring countries were similarly affected.[53] In an October 1918 "Madrid Letter" to the Journal of the American Medical Association, a Spanish official protested, "we were surprised to learn that the disease was making ravages in other countries, and that people there were calling it the 'Spanish grip'. And wherefore Spanish? ...this epidemic was not born in Spain, and this should be recorded as a historic vindication."[54]

What happens after that sale closes is that the company that sold Allbirds and it no longer owns. Allbirds is sitting there as an empty husk on the stock exchange. It is a stock market listing with $22 million of cash in it because that’s basically how much was left from the purchase price and after they’d paid off their debts and all of that kind of stuff. And so in this day and age, if you are sitting on a stock market listing with $22 million of cash in it, what you do is you’re like, let’s go to the casino and put it all on red and see how much fun we can have with this $22 million of cash. I reckon in this age of dumb AI hype, we can increase our $22 million somehow. The shareholders are expecting $22 million, which is a penny a piece or something like that. So they don’t actually care if they’re not going to get the $22 million. They want to have fun and go off to the races and, you know, try and moon this stock. And so let’s do something really stupid. Let’s call ourselves an AI company. Let’s put out a press release saying that we’re going to buy a bunch of GPUs with a $50 million credit line, which will get you like, five and a half GPUs, and rename ourselves New Birds and sign a. What’s known as a death spiral convertible deal with some hedge fund somewhere and just become a pure meme stock because, you know, lol, nothing matters.

“Due to [the Culliton vs. Chase] ruling it would require a constitutional amendment to enact an income tax, and to date that hasn’t happened,” DOR communications manager Mikhail Carpenter told The News Tribune. “The issue has been put before the voters several times since the 1933 ruling, but none have been successful.”

Bumbershoot is still shrinking from year-to-year. Just three music stages for 2025. But still, there are sweet surprises like Tank and the Bangas today. They work hard to get the crowd going, and actually succeeded with sing-alomgs and more; not easy in Seattle.

TEL AVIV, Dec. 18 (Reuters) Hundreds of field mice are killing themselves by jumping from cliffs on the Golan Heights in what Israeli scientists say is the rodents' instinctive way of solving an overpopulation problem.
Scientists said they had observed mass jumps into two streams and counted the remains of 150 mice at the bottom of one cliff. They estimate some 250 million mice inhabit the sparsely populated Israeli-Syrian cease-fire line.
