Generally floundering. Yogi, knitter, walker, sci fi nerd, occasionally sweary, Scottish, retired engineer, frequent user of the block button, rehomed Elsie the German Shepherd. She/her
We have arrived at the cottage. No black lab in sight so I rummage around in the campervan and pulled out this cutie instead. It's a very new development and there are some snagging issues with the cottage that I can work around, but the conservatory is a furnace 🥵
Making sure I've got all the details for my trip printed out and refreshing my memory on the booking. Usually with this agency you get a small welcome basket but it looks like my cottage comes pre loaded with a black lab. Better than some biscuits and tea bags.
A picture of a dog who came into the kitchen to help when the oven went on and heard the word sausages but was then unable to hear the words, but not for you.
Had an impromptu day out at Ironbridge with OH. I've never been before, what a fabulous setting on a sunny day. Low 20's and a breeze so perfect for a wander about, lunch, ice cream then back to collect Elsie from daycare but 29 degrees at home is much less fun.
My mate was cycling in Scotland, stopped to fix something on his bike, heard footsteps and a posh woman asked if he was ok.
Picked this up from the library this morning, I have a brew, a conditioning treatment on my hair, a top up of fake tan on my legs, I'm going in.
Seems M&S are in cahoots with my physio, though they are slightly more polite about my needing to activate my glutes than he was
We have been to the vets I've had my annual booster, Elsie not so much. Trying again in a couple of weeks.
Had a sit in the town square before it got too hot and watched the world go by.
While ambling around the scrubby un mowed bit of the park with Elsie I spotted this and moved it to the nearest bench. I think it's a philosophy we can all get behind
I'm only curious as this is one I picked up on a rummage and it has similar style aspects. Fieldings Devon Ware, which I've never come across before or since.
Dog who never wants to come in from the garden and has to be bribed, had 10 minutes of gentle play in the shade on the grass, had a wee, then trotted back to the back door. So pleased she's get her head around freedom being an ongoing thing in her life now.
After a read and a snooze, back out, fuelled up for the journey tomorrow and this time Elsie was up for a walk by the river and after we had a sit in the Square to watch the world and lots of black labs go by, then back for a play at the cottage. Feet up now.
Had a nice bimble of a day. The sun came out but Elsie refused to walk by the river at Melrose so I bought another Jeanie Bag from the Crafters, enjoyed Priorswood garden then to Old Melrose for the views & café. Stopped a Leaderfoot to admire the bridges then back to the cottage for a sit.
Headed out into the wilds to see my friend who's car is off the road. Proper bleak Reiver country, each to their own but as a bonus I saw my first ever eagle and up close too.
And the award for the best looking pup ..... (Not an actual award but should be)
