To my dad (who can’t see this yet, because I still need to show him how to create an account on here): I love you, and Happy Father’s Day!!

My brown haired dad with mustache (wearing a white, long sleeved thermal shirt and blue jeans) holding me propped up on one knee, as a short haired toddler (wearing a red long sleeved shirt and blue coveralls with a red handkerchief barely in my back left pocket). We’re both smiling.

Family pic during Christmas some years ago. Starting front left to right: my younger sister (RIP Rose), my very happy mom (wearing red Christmas sweater and hat). Back left to right: my older and much taller brother, my wise father (just chillin in the back), and finally myself (also with a Santa hat).

At one of our local reservoirs, water is a little brownish green colored and had been drawn down by about 25 feet. Trees and rocks with old stumps and dirt are in the background. My much older, grey bearded dad (wearing blue coveralls with a green Carhartt coat and Vietnam Veteran hat on), observing my youngest son/his grandson (with short hair and wearing a red t-shirt) kiss a rainbow trout with his eyes closed, while my very happy oldest son (with short hair and wearing a black puma hoodie) is holding a brown fishing pole in one hand, while also pushing the fish he had just caught into his brother’s face.

Happy Father’s Day! Even as a single full time father, I remind myself that it really isn’t about me though. It’s about setting a proper example for my boys. I hope they feel all the love that I have for them, and that they feel safe to be their true selves.
