Today we hiked Mayflower Gulch (a favourite summer and winter) up to remains of Boston Mine at 11,800ft / 3,600m.
Home in Keystone after quick trip to Washington DC. We took the route over Loveland Pass - gorgeous in early evening light. Back to #KeystoneHiking tomorrow.

A flying visit to Washington DC. Stayimg well clear of the Reflecting Pool! It's green, lush, humid. An early morning walk along the C&O Canal which runs besode Potomac River.
Out today on the Soda Creek Trail, back on Groovy Uvi Trail (love that name!) Lots of fallen timber due mostly to the dreadful toll of the lodge pole pine beetle (another consequence of climate change). This year there are resl worries about wildfire danger. #KeystoneHiking
Overnight rain delivered a clear sunny morning. We hiked out and back 10km along Mesa Cortina and South Willow Creek Trails to intersection with Gore Trail. #KeystoneHiking
Getting out is good for body and soul - and, as I discover when I borrow Miss Bayley, everyone talks to a dog. But I enjoy a tough climb (at altitude) as long as no narrow ledges.

Clinton Gulch Reservoir Trail - north side is generally quite muddy but very dry today. Pleasing to see a variety of wildflowers but far fewer than usual. It was wet enough for purple elephant heads to bloom.

Summit County Colorado - after a winter with little snow, everything is very dry. It looks like wildflower season will not deliver the great displays we love. But delighted to find plenty of columbines (state flower) and a few mariposa lilies on Acorn Creek trail today. #KeystoneHiking

An excellent start to the week with a visit to AGNSW for the Archibalds. As usual - some I really liked, some I didn't. Favourite was this Vincent Namatjira: he's always amusing, provocative. BTW: Kids' Archies is fabulous!
