One of the best design tidbits from Sakurai games is collecting jpegs of food as powerups. Smash has had it for a while + new Kirby does too. More people should steal that (I probably will in my next game).

We worked hard to make this MUCH more than a photo mode, but I'm selfishly excited to see what photos you'll take. Make sure to play with Selfie Mode: Just throw your camera at a wall and it will look your way, whatever you're doing.
Hop's camera was always there, but so far it takes a back seat to all the froggy platforming. The world we made is so HUGE and full of detail that it's implicitly fun to take pictures. Adding this new framing makes it feel like a whole extra game!
There's more than 20 jobs to find hidden across the game. Each has a camera upgrade reward that ranges from filters, lenses, to a final gadget that changes the world.
Using Hop's camera, you'll go on jobs that recontextualize the world and layer in new secrets and jokes. Ghosts, Aliens, Mole People, Round Earth... all the big conspiracies are here.
You'll meet a conspiracy theorist Owl named Cappler who needs help proving some Weird ideas. Writing this was some of the most fun I've had making Hops and we were fortunate to get Chester Rushing (from Stranger Things) to do his voice.

Trinkets turn BIG HOPS into an RPG through gameplay modifiers you can mix and match. I added them to solve a common platformer problem of collectibles not mattering.
