Poem #04 in #DogfaceWords, my debut poetry collection I'm currently: A) Looking for a print publisher for B) Putting out as videos like this on Instagram (cos some are too long for here) C) Starting to perform extracts from in front of a live audience next week. Boy, that escalated quickly.
This. Genuinely have huge fondness for the director's cut of this movie. It's easily better than any of the sequels to the original. Sometimes the devious side of me pops into Ghostbusters groups on Facebook and leaves a comment praising it just to watch the misogynists gather for easy blocking.
If you ever feel frustrated by your career, imagine how frustrating it must have been to be Bonnie Tyler in the late 1980s. This album bombed in most countries, but songs from it were later worldwide smashes for Tina Turner, Aswad, Robin Beck and Cher. And their versions aren't really *better*.
Today marks the 80th birthday of Jayne County - a true punk pioneer. Present at the Stonewall Riots, a protege of Andy Warhol, inspiration for Bowie's Rebel Rebel, and first 'famous' musician to transition at the end of the 1970s. A trans icon with a phenomenal and hugely underrated catalogue.
Jinkx Monsoon @ The Albert Halls, Manchester 11th July 2026 My 7th time seeing her, but first in almost four years. Hopefully not too long til the 8th.
Sneaky peek at Stewart Lee and friends recording a new podcast this afternoon.

As someone who went to uni at 25 only to find almost all 'student placement' options were only funded for people under the age of 26, can I suggest this notion is tweaked so that anyone of any age in further education can also perhaps claim for reduced fares if not free ones?
I have it on good authority he managed to survive the fall. 😉
I think you mean female Welsh solo artist. Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Tom Jones and others spring to mind, here.
Them: "We're bringing out tons of new colour vinyl versions of Thriller." Me: "I have an original pressing which is all analogue and sounds great." Them: "We're doing a liquid vinyl version." Me: "I'm intrigued." Them: "It's £94.99 - £50 more than Bad World charge." Me: "Count me out, ya gits."

Doing my usual thing of listening to a recent setlist by a band I'm seeing live tonight. I forget sometimes some bands do song titles better than others.
15 years ago today I spent a glorious evening with the brilliant @alicelowetime.bsky.social and the late great Antony Elvin while they ad-libbed in character as Oona & Crispin Wheatflake of Hot Brew. Where did the years go? Vibrational, it seems. Fully vibrational. 💚💚 Some highlights:
Had to come up with a blurb for myself that I can expand and contract where needed for bookings. Got a bit silly with it.
The Rub #poetry Instagram users can follow my new poetry account Dogfacewords where I'll be posting lots more of these in the coming weeks...
Just seen this sketch for the first time. I met all three men in this image, two of which are now dead. Only one of them was even REMOTELY a nice person. The other two were the nastiest celebrities I have ever met. Bet you can guess which.
I won't be able to share all of them here due to time limits on videos but here is the first poem from #DogfaceWords entitled: THE THING IS...
Much love to Bob Vylan always. What the BBC put them through last year was disgraceful. Go get em, fellas. Love ya. xx
Ten years without Caroline Aherne. Two of the funniest lines ever written just quietly dropped into this sketch as light and shade enhancements. That was her gift as a writer. What an utter genius.
Bahahhahahahhahhahahahahahhaha. Can the people behind AI just accept it is totally fucking shit in every single possible way and isn't fit for purpose? We don't want it. Go away.
Ps. Another example here of my own headcanon. I don't need the tv show or tie-in media to state it explicitly. That wouldn't make good drama, would it? But it all comes from a single line in Twice Upon a Time that explains Bradley's Doctor isn't quite Hartnell's. Fixes any complaints about him!
I mean, it is remarkably easy to sort this out without it being IMPLICITLY explained on screen. 1. Jo Martin's Doctor had the same TARDIS. 2. The chameleon circuit broke. She liked it. 3. She was captured, forcibly regenerated and memory wiped. 4. The TARDIS changed itself back on purpose.
Anti-Chibnall Whovians: "The Fugitive Doctor's TARDIS can't have been a police box! The chameleon circuit didn't break until they left Totters Lane in An Unearthly Child!" Doctor Who in 2013: "Make sure you take the faulty TARDIS currently in for repairs." Canon gave you the answer years earlier!
